Comments about Seculine Vivicap White Balance Filter with Cover - (58mm):

The metal clips make this cap a snap to put on with the lens hood, and that alone is almost worth the price. Having an easy custom white balance solution makes this thing well worth it, the pictures look more true with it then without. I also dropped it on concrete and everything is fine. I wouldn't want to go crazy on it but it handles a little clumsiness like a champ.

Comments about Seculine Vivicap White Balance Filter with Cover - (58mm):

I had two main concerns when I purchased the Vivicap: would it work and would it be durable? After a two week trip in the Pacific Northwest, I can answer a resounding "yes" to both.

I wasn't sure if this would actually work as intended. I mean, why would people buy the ExpoCap at a much higher cost if there were other passable options? I don't want to take anything away from the ExpoCap, I'm sure it's a fine product, but the Vivicap does exactly what it is supposed to; it helps you set the proper custom white balance. I used it mostly indoors and in shaded areas (such as under forest canopies) where the auto white balance is typically a little off. Worked like a charm.

The other concern I had was if this would hold up to use as a lens cap. After two weeks of being in my camera bag, in my pocket, even dropped (once in a stream!), it still is as good as new. The whole point of getting this instead of a Lally Cap of something similar was so I could keep it on the lens, and it's built to allow you to do so.

Comments about Seculine Vivicap White Balance Filter with Cover - (58mm):

All I can say is that it just plain works. I was looking for something that was similar to the expodisc. At this time, buying an expodisc was not an option. I still wanted the results that everybody says that you get with it. I found this and thought after reading the reviews that I would give it a try. I wish the instructions were a little more specific. I aim at the spot where my subject will be and have all light sources on that, will be used including flash. Since I was not use to setting manual white balance it took a little trial and error. However now I have consistent results. It is very affordable compared to the other white balance options. As for having trouble taking it on and off the lens like some have stated, I must have an updated copy, because the cap fits just as good as the lens cap that came with it. I squeeze in on the plastic tabs and only use the metal tabs when I have a lens hood on. You might want to flip the metal pieces out when you take the reading, I seem to get more consistent results doing this. As for the cost, I can put one on every lens if I want and still pay less than other options. Can honestly say I am pleasantly surprised, hopefully you will be too.

I bought this for a backup in case I lose the first one. I still stand by my original review.

Comments about Seculine Vivicap White Balance Filter with Cover - (58mm):

I have used Vivicap in both indoor and outdoor settings. I used the filter to set my white balance when shooting my Granddaughters volleyball games, It gave me better skin tones on the players and the background colors matched what I was shooting. I also used it when I was shooting a friends family. I shot them in front of their fireplace and the rich earth tones of the bricks was amazing, the colors seemed warmer.

Outdoors I used the filters to set up the camera when I was shooting some pomogranites on a tree, the colors were much richer. I usually have to adjust the temperature and tint sliders on elements to get richer colors and with the Vivicap there was no adjustments.

I like the fact that it is designed like a lens cap. I can leave it on my lens all the time so it is always handy when I need it. With other models they have to be screwed on like a lens filter, the Vivicap is much easier.

I haven't owned this product for to long and so far I have yet to find any faults with it. For the money paid I would recomend this product to any beginning or advanced photographer, it's great.
