The B&H price, [...] was phenomenal. The actual range of the Motorola radios is disappointing. Even in full power on GMRS frequencies, the radios can not transmit more 0.5 miles in an indoor urban landscape. They very well may have a 35 mile range line-of-sight, mountain-top to mountain-top, or over water; However, do not expect these radios to work over a distance of 0.5 miles in a City.

Comments about Motorola MR350R Talkabout Two-Way Radio (Pair):
I used to talk to my wife inside the malls and Miamia Orlando and at some points we can not communicate, we had to leave the store. The range of 35 miles is far fetched. But imagine 20 miles or so. If you can, buy a more powerful one. However, in the battery served well, lasting the entire day.

Comments about Motorola MR350R Talkabout Two-Way Radio (Pair):
Looked through a bunch of "cheap but expensive" awful, "kid friendly" walkie talkies and my husband and I decided to spend a little extra and go with these. I am so very glad we did! The kids (ages 4 and 8) are having a blast with them. AND we are happy to have a good pair of two way radios in our home in case of emergencies. We may even purchase one more "pair" so we each one of us can have one. I said 4 stars because the range is not as far as motorola states but it still went a good distance. So pleased with these.

I bought the radios to use on my trips and to find my wife on shoppings. The battery don't last as I expected and the range certainly are not as described by the manufacturer. Despite it I'm satisfied with my purchase.

We use these to communicate with each of our crew members at MMA events we cover. Loud, clear sound and good range.
Only downside: The belt clips are horrible - break into pieces just putting on your belt. Still trying to find a better belt solution.

Comments about Motorola MR350R Talkabout Two-Way Radio (Pair):
I bought the pair because of the advertised range of 35 miles in ideal conditions. I have tested them in one of the flattest counties in the country and with very few trees and found that they have a range of maybe 1.5 miles. You might as well yell and save your money...yelling would work better! I gave them a 1 star because they didn't have a lower rating. My overall rating is BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

After reading the reviews, I decided to get this model. I would highly recommend that the Qt (noise filtering) mode be left off. The Two-way-radios missed some communications until I shut this funtion off. I was pleasantly surprised that the recharable batteries had no problem lasting all day and still had a charge remaining.
I would definately recommend this product.

Comments about Motorola MR350R Talkabout Two-Way Radio (Pair):
My first receipt of these radios found one of the pair not able to receive weather stations (just static). B%H did a good job on the return. New units are fine. Check your features when you receive these to make sure everything works. This will take a while with both units and the user guide. Power is good (2 to 2.5 miles in the country with rolling hills, trees and buildings. Much more distance on a lake or flat lands. Great quiet features with a headset. Rechargable battery power is a bit short, better with regular throw away alkalines. I use rechargable NiMh (one hour charge) and get a bunch more time with them than supplied batteries fully charged. The supplied batteries also take a long time to charge when low. All in all, great features for a low price. I would recommend.

I was from Taiwan to purchase this walkie talkie for car road trip communication. Actually I bought two paris, one is Value Pack(VP) other is simple package only contain 2 handsets with standard accessories inside.
I'd tested it in my living city where close to Taipei/Neihu edge area, it has many office building here. I am standing on the ground, my younger bro drive his car and we keep in talk by switching High/Low PTT. In the normally situation, High power can reach around 2~3km depands on what area the receiver locate, if receiver was in open area. It can very easy to touch and clear sound even distance approcing to 3Km or more. Low power distance will degrade to 1~1.5km. I already understood that advertise words said 35miles up is a junk. However, this device can touch 2~3km range already satisfied my intent. B&H also deliver package very fast to me. From USA to Taiwan only takes 4 business days. Very good for oversea's customer. I also recommanded my firends to buy this from B&H next to me. Nice product!

Comments about Motorola MR350R Talkabout Two-Way Radio (Pair):
I have played with these for a week. My impressions are rather good, the sound is good (far from being very good), the range is very good if I choose higher channels – so no complains there. My kids love it, but for day to day play I make sure I set lower channels that are limited to 0.5W RF radiation.
Now here comes the unbelievable part: there was a problem with the charger, only the back slot was charging. The front slot was dead. I opened the charger and realised that the complete circuit board was WRONG. One of the front slot pads that was supposed to be connected to the minus, was connected to the plus – and this required full re-work / coper trace cutting and few more changes to the placement of one diode and one capacitor. It is in fact quite stunning that Motorola released this product without any quality control checks…
What to say…. I bought this product from B&H based on their and Motorola's reputation…. For the money the product is very good. The unbelievable part came in to play when I realised what someone had done to the charger PCB… this certainly did not even reach Motorola QC, yet - the charger has Motorola logo. Motorola, you are getting both thumbs down from me.
