I purchased this power charger as part of my husband's Christmas gift, along with a FLIP video camera. It's a nice compact size and the prongs fold in for easy travel or storage. One thing I'm not sure about - although it does work well - is the way the camera connects to the charger, via the usb port. Seems like it would be a bit unstable if the camera wasn't supported on a hard surface. Now the charger actually worked without a hitch, just appears to be a rather odd way to connect to the camera. I'm glad I bought this wall charger.

I used to charge my Flip using USB. That took way too long, and when the computer went into sleep mode, it stopped charging the Flip. I purchased this power adapter and now I can charge quickly all the time without the need of a computer.

I got this to remove the need to charge off a computer - it works great, I only have two small issues.
1) I wish it would charge the battery by itself - like some camera adapters, just a spot for the battery, no need to hook the camera up. Instead, you plug the camera into this, and this to the wall. Works great, just less convenient than I'd hoped. Being able to charge a second battery while using the camera would be nice.
2) It does not play nicely with some (or all?) USB extension cables. I thougt I had a bad battery until I tried plugging the Flip cam straight into the charger - once I did that, it worked fine - not sure if it was my cable or what.
Other than that, this thing works just as advertised, and lets you charge the Flip wherever there's an outlet.

When pluging the Flip Video into the the Power Adapter the Flip Video screen is facing the wall and can not ve viewed. The screen shows the progress of the charge. Whoever designed the charger did not see the Flip Video unit it was going to be used with.

This is not the greatest design. Unlike chargers for other cameras you plug the entire camera into this. With the Flip hanging from the charger rigidly it seems like a lot of stress is placed on the USB arm. I will probably use this with an extension cord so the camera can rest on a surface or not use it at all and charge the camera from the computer.
