The Aqua Tech SoftCap is a light and practical alternative to the leather 'snoot' style caps that are delivered with Canon and Nikon's big telephoto lenses today.
Constructed from a pliant silicon material, the SoftCap makes a snug fit right at the end of the lens barrel and is very unlikely to come off by accident.
You'll save a bit of weight and mass; and with a big lens to carry, every bit of savings counts--on a long journey, even a straw weighs a ton.
This SoftCap fits both the older non-stabilized versions of the current lenses as well as the current models, and can also be combined with Aqua Tech's SoftHood collapsible fabric hoods.

Use the SoftCap as a back up for the stock lens cover on my Nikon 600mm. I've had problems with the stock cover collecting more dust and transferring it to the lens surface than when it was not attached and this product helps combat this problem. I also use it a lot when I need my camera handy but am worried about dust.

The most important thing to do after buying an expensive lens is to protect it. No one wants their expensive glass to be damaged by the unexpected. The Softcap is added protection that makes sense and may just keep you from having a very bad day when transporting or setting up your expensive 600mm lens.
