I own 4 Sony UWP and are super happy with them, but customer always explain to me that I should move to the G3 system as the sound was better.. bla bla.
So I gave up and bought 2 pairs and come with some regrets very fast.
Compare to Sony , they are way more sensitive in a noisy frequencies environment (around TV tower) and you need to change the frequency on the street with the client with you when the same frequency was working 2 mn before (never happen with the Sony).
But the worst is the design of the body. It happen to fall and a stupid guy walk on it.. the 2 front button are damaged and the receiver can be trashed. On the Sony side, the button are a bit inside the body so no risk that will happen.
Yes I know, having someone stepping on a mic receiver is unlikely, but bad things happen on set and you will maybe choose a mic on the real use.. not just on spec.
The sound quality is quite similar to Sony and battery wise we also have the same duration. Again Sony beat them with a headphone plug on the receiver.

Comments about Sennheiser ew 112-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME2 Lavalier Mic - A (516-558 MHz):
I recently purchased this lavalier mic after borrowing the same model from a friend. So, my review is based both on this older model (~3 years old) and the brand-new set from B&H. In a phrase: the quality matches the price. In one situation, wind and background noise surrounded us during the interview, but the lav mic filtered nearly all of it out. The sound is sharp, natural - to use un-technical words. I use this with our two Canon DSLRs: 7D and 60D. But I have an externally mounted mixer that I plug into.
I'm relatively new to the field of audio and short filmmaking, but this lav mic was recommended by a field pro who has made his living studying audio. I think mic will be durable, but the jury remains out. Like all specialized equipment, lav mic seems delicate. I will buy a case for it. This is a lot of money to put down for a mic (for a non-pro like me). However, in order to make your video rise above the noise found on YouTube, etc., I think that use of high-performing, high-quality equipment is the first step.

Comments about Sennheiser ew 112-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME2 Lavalier Mic - A (516-558 MHz):
I'm not an audio guy, I'm a DP and Editor, but this is a nice upgrade from what I had been using prior. I had lots of drop out issues and static on my previous wireless system (hand-me-down older Sony). Sony is great but the set I had was pretty worn out and abused (before I got it).
This set is amazing and so easy to set up. The old Sony set I had was a pain in the butt to sync. The G3 is stupid easy to sync, works beautifully and I don't regret spending the money. It's going to make my life easier than trying to fix static hits constantly.
So take this review for what it is (from an unexperienced audio dude) but I know what sounds good and these fit that bill. Lovely.

I use these mics for narrative and eng type applications.I chose them from my experince with the mics during grad school.I know the menu system and I also know how the mics sound and how to work with them after production.I think the sennheiser mics are great among the other mics in this price point. It is hard to say which mic offers "better" sound with lavs, because so much is up to the person mounting the mic, placement, taping ect. There also to many other variables to consider with each microphone as each brand has its distinctive sound qualties. For me I chose the sennheisers as, for my ears, they sound a little less boomy and appear to have a nice portrayal of the human voice. The menu systems on the mics are easy to navigate and once you learn them you have a lot of options to tweak and make your sound quality great. The pack itself is built pretty well with mixing metal with plastic. I have never had any issues with broken pacs. The pacs also mount pretty well to clothes and belts with the little clip.the way to use the camera hot shoe mount is a bit goofy with having to pull off the clothing clip by bending it outward and then putting it back on. but you do what you have to do.in summation, these pacs offer pretty good durability, I feel they provide great sound for the price point and with a little patience and reading are pretty streamlined for ease of use.

I'm an amateur film maker and use this mic in combination with a shotgun either on the camera or on a boom. I'm quite amazed at the distance I can have the receiver from the sender without any kind of distortion or noise. The units themselves have a very solid feel to them. The microphone is very small (and so perfect for hiding in clothes) but it does feel a little flimsy. Time will tell.

Comments about Sennheiser ew 112-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME2 Lavalier Mic - A (516-558 MHz):
We are a productions studio in Northern Thailand shooting for broadcast and movie production. What I'm very pleased with is the simplicity of the set up and how you can sync the receiver and transmitter. Also having the ability to scan for free freq. is a great asset in production. Using far cheaper double A batteries is also much more cost effective that 9 volt batteries that at times aren't available far from city shoots. I don't really have a complaint on the product but one feature I miss is being able to replace the antennas easily. One of my older Sennheiser cordless camera units had replaceable threaded antennas that the consumer could replace easily. These units will have to be sent to a authorized service center for replacement. Not a terrible thing but the threaded antennas were really nice.

We use it for weddings and it works great. Gets the full vocals you want during the wedding ceremony by throwing it on the groom or pastor. Also worked great at the reception when we put it under the PA system speaker. It did not pick up any feedback or any crust noises. Just plan old sound that we want. The stock mic on it works great for what we use it for. Great buy. Very worth the money.

After much online research and talking to a variety of production friends, we chose the Sennheiser G3. We are not sorry. So far, they have proven clear as can be. The range is great. This is a handy wireless kit. It has decent range and great battery life. The included ME-2 mic sounds good and on par with other mics in its price range. Ive had some interference issues in the city but was easily able to find a frequency that worked. It will also work with other Sennheiser products like a handheld mic or IEM receiver. Overall a great value. I have a pair in my location sound bag and use them for miking talent, camera hops and IFB.

We shoot industrial and construction videos and use Canon DSLRs for most shots but also Canon XF-100s for when we have to move fast.
This wireless mic system has a really good mic and great sound. We did a shoot the day after we got it and used this mic (even though we didnt plan to) because it was so easy to scan for clear freqs, set up and use the mic.
The process for scanning and pairing the receiver to the transmitter could not possibly be easier. No rotary dials, dip switchs or other stuff like older systems. A menu selection is all you do, then hold them close together so it can do an IR sync - sort of like a TV remote works but you hold them close together.
Out of the box, you do have to turn the gain down a bit as its output signal is pretty strong but once we did that the audio into the DSLRs and XF-100s was perfect both with mini plug and the XLR (both included).
We really like this rig. The audio for our purposes was absolutley perfect and indistiguishable from a wired mic.
