If you want the maximum number of features with a minimum number of hassles the Samsung HT-BD8200T should be on your short list. It's simply a roughly 40" by 8" sound bar you can wall mount right under your TV (with the included kit)and a powered subwoofer that connects to the bar wirelessly.

But you don't have to sacrifice features and quality for simplicity. From just two speakers and a subwoofer the BD8200T creates the illusion of a sound field that is all around you.

If you have a Samsung TV with Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) plug it into the BD8200T with an HDMI cable and you can control it all with your TV remote. No tedious code entering or testing. This system can play BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc movies), BD-RE, BD-R, DVD-R, DVD-RW (V mode) and CD-RW/CD-R. But these formats are just the beginning of your options. You can also plug portable devices like USB thumb drives, MP3 players, digital cameras and removable hard disk drives (160 GB or smaller) into the USB port to show photos and listen to music.

Want more music? You can preset up to 15 of your favorite stations on the FM stereo radio. Still more? Use a wired or wireless connection to your high speed Internet connection to listen to music on your own customized radio stations at Pandora.com. You can also use your Internet connection to stream movies from your Netflix account (fees apply) and to access the interactive content BD-Live Blu-ray Discs can contain.

In short, the HT-BD8200T is deceptively simple and simply powerful.

Plays a Wide Variety of Media
BD-ROM, BD-RE,/BD-R, DVD-Video, Audio CD, CD-R/-RW, JPEG discs, and MP3 discs are among the media the HT-BD8200T can play. It can also play DivX recordings through its USB port. The USB port can also hold a 1 GB or larger USB thumb drive to record information when using BD-Live discs that can download additional program information from the Internet (high speed Internet connection required.)
Unsurpassed Image Quality With Upconversion
Everything looks better in 1080p. Your Blu-ray Discs look and sound amazing. Your DVDs get a new lease on life, looking almost as good as real HD. And it's effortless. The HT-BD8200T does it automatically.
Netflix and Pandora Ready for Streaming Movies and Music
If you've got a high speed Internet connection and a Netflix account with streaming you've got a library of 12,000 movies and TV episodes you can play on demand. Pandora is a free Internet service that allows you to create multiple customized "channels" based on the kind of music you like. And you can hear them all on your HT-BD8200T.
WiFi Built In
You don't need a bunch of wires to join the wired generation. WiFi wireless connectivity is built in to the BD8200T. Simply connect the included WiFi dongle to the USB port on the HT-BD8200, connect to your WiFi router and you're ready to enjoy the full spectrum of streaming content. (The powered subwoofer is also wireless, but on a different frequency.)
Smart Sound
Smart Sound outsmarts those commercials that blast out of your TV while you're watching a quiet dramatic scene. It regulates and stabilizes the volume no matter how loud the guy selling the next kitchen miracle shouts his pitch.

Works well with my Samsung UN46B8500 LCD; plug and play. Good picture/sound. Power-off on remote doesn't completely turn sound bar and subwoofer power off.

Comments about Samsung HT-BD8200T 2.1 Channel Blu-ray Sound Bar Home Theater System:

I'm impressed with the sound that this system produces from just a soundbar and wireless subwoofer. It produces high quality sound and is a great system for those looking to keep their room uncluttered. The soundbar can be mounted on the wall and will stream movies and music from the internet. The system looks great and is well designed.

Great sound and picture quality! Others talk about the menu being hard to navigate and the sub being too powerful...I guess this is their first upgrade to something other that their Atari. The only thing I have to complain about is that you can't use this for tv sound.

Comments about Samsung HT-BD8200T 2.1 Channel Blu-ray Sound Bar Home Theater System:

I bought a Samsung 46 LED TV and was anxiously awaiting the release of the Blu-Ray Surround bar to mount in my master bedroom. It is a visual, and incredible auditory display that is everything I wanted. The bluRay bar fits neatly on the wall and the subwoofer is wireless and can be placed anywhere. It is easy to use, sounds great, looks great and is much more compact than the 1st Samsung surround bar. I haven't read all the instructions so that I can utilize all of the features, i.e. IPOD, ethernet LAN connection but everyone who has scene it is blown away.

            • The OTHER TV room

Comments about Samsung HT-BD8200T 2.1 Channel Blu-ray Sound Bar Home Theater System:

This unit is mounted on a brick wall beneath a Pioneer 50 inch plasma. The room is 17 ft. x 23 ft., formerly a patio and now an enclosed "man cave" with billiard table. It is not comparable to the orb audio system in the family room with a pioneer 09FD blu-ray player, but it more than serves the purpose. It is dramatically better at sound production than the stock attached speaker on the Pio plasma. The sound stage and bass range is quite impressive in a room of this size. The only down side is the menu is only displayable on the TV which mandates that the TV be on to change settings even when one only wants audio output from radio or iPod. Other than that, perfect!

only gave it 4 stars because I've only had it for about a week and I've been working alot and havnt been able to monkey around much with it yet. So far I am very impressed with the sound and picture. My wife thinks it sounds beter than my 5.1 system I have in our livingroom.(I put the 8200 in our bedroom with a new samsung 40" TOC grey tv)
