The Conair TS31LHT LadderKart Combination Stepladder & Hand Cart is an industrial-strength dual purpose solution for your various hauling and shooting needs. It is particularly useful for the event shooter who occasionally needs to get additional height to shoot over a crowd.
The LadderKart's aluminum frame folds down to a 6.5" (16.5cm) height for storing and transporting, and it has extensive capacity to endure weight in use; 300 pounds as a ladder, and 250 pounds as a cart.
The LadderKart has large 4" rubber wheels and is rated "level 1" as a ladder, which means an 'industrial heavy' use specification. The ladder's 11 x 9" (28 x 23cm) steps are made of polypropylene.

The LadderKart combines the load bearing capability of a hand truck with the convenience and essence of a stepladder. It's a perfect piece of gear for the on-location crew or the one-man-band operation.
In use, the Ladderkart will easily move a couple hundred pounds of gear, essentially all that's necessary for a photographer or videographer, from car to location. Then it unfolds in a snap to provide help in setting up lights, backdrops, jibs and more. For stowage, it folds into a small form and can be tucked away unobstrusively.
I appreciate its light weight when preparing to schlep gear. Its construction and sturdiness is reassuring when I'm moving expensive gear. The wheels are small enough to stay out of the way but large enough to roll easily over all but the most challenging, rocky terrain. They are quiet as well. The steadiness the Ladderkart provides encourages me to shoot from its highest stop, 30-inches from the ground. While that doesn't sound high, it allows me to get far over a crowd and with a vantage point that shows in images and video.
The soft, foam-covered handle allows a comfortable and secure grip even in the rain. However I caution those using the product on wet surfaces because the wheels can slip on steep lateral grades. Also, I wish the large diameter tube frame had accommodations or anchors for bungee cords which are needed to secure a load. Not a show stopper but every moment counts when getting gear to and from a location and a securely loaded kart is essential around other gear and client property.
It's a good value for the money. There's really no close competition. I'd recommend to my fellow location photographers and video makers.

It also weighs a significant amount.. 10kg or 17lbs. I thought I would use it to haul my photo gear around but it is too big. There are also no easily accessible points to attach bungee cords or straps. It's a bit awkard to put into a car as well. The ladder falls open when you lift it using the cart tray.

Pro's:
-TERRIFIC idea- I'm surprised noone else has come up w/ a similar product.
-Lets me get unique vantage points in crowded events.
-Facilitates transporting softboxes, scrims, reflectors, etc.
Con's:
-Not very stable- if you go around a turn too quickly, it will tip over.
-Stairs.
-Rack isn't really all that big- barely holds a Think Tank Airport Intl. V. 2 or Pelican 1510.
-Hotel revolving doors.
-Difficult to attach a bungee cord to secure loads.
-The worst part:
If the end cap screw thing comes off (see images) & you think it's broke, then the manufacturer will tell you to send it back at YOUR expense. No option to use towards credit to buying the "new & improved" version.

I purchased then returned after my first wedding (I'm a photographer). It's ok considering it is a both ladder and a cart but not great at either. I already owned a cart with flip-out back wheels that was able to easily carry hundreds of pounds. As a cart, it was heavy and a bit unstable; plus had no ties or straps to hold the load. As a ladder, it was ok but again heavy to move and a bit narrow - plus the wheels become a trip hazard. Conversely, I have a ultra-light 2 step ladder that easy to carry and use. Last, although not advertised for this purpose, I though it would serve as convenient seat but far too narrow except for a skinnest's butts!In summary, as a dual function ladder-step it's ok and wouldn't advise against buying it as long as you are willing to accept the compromises of each - I wasn't.

I've always wanted to take a step ladder to a photo shoot so I could do some shots from up above the subject. But I didn't want to carry a ladder around with all the other stuff I carted around. I heard a famous photographer mention this product at B&H and I checked it out. I researched and then ordered it. It's very sturdy and I love that you can cart a couple of those plastic tubs filled with all kinds of props! Well worth the money.

I bought this a little while ago. It works great for moving gear on location and also as a step ladder for setting up gear and for getting high angle shots. It is very sturdy and it seems to live up to its capacity ratings. I wouldn't load it up with hundred of pounds (as a cart) but it will definitely support you normal size loads. The wheels are good quality and move very well. Overall I'm very pleased.

I used this on a wedding job to haul my bag and at the same time get height for some group photos. It works well as a ladder but if you use the cart you will need to use a bungee cord or something for going more than a few feet or rough terrain since platform isn't as large as I thought. Not really a problem for me though. One of the main issues I found with the cart portion of this product is that it doesn't 'click' or remain rigid when you have the cart flap down- so if your load is small and heavy (like mine was - camera bag about 35#), it won't stand erect by itself. You either have to pop open the ladder or hold it, which isn't the best.

Sturdy, comfortable ergonomics, and the construction quality seems good. Great for one-man-band load-ins, especially when the nearest parking spot is a few blocks from location. Does double-duty by getting you up to focus lights and grab high-angle shots. Great size for me, since I drive a sedan, not a grip truck.
I dislike how it doesn't stand up well by itself in handcart mode, since the loading platform is not flush with floor. This can be frustrating if there's nowhere to lean it immediately prior to loading. Also, I'd love to have some built-in eye loops for bungee cords.

Sturdy, comfortable ergonomics, and the construction quality seems good. Great for one-man-band load-ins, especially when the nearest parking spot is a few blocks from location. Does double-duty by getting you up to focus lights and grab high-angle shots. Great size for me, since I drive a sedan, not a grip truck.
I dislike how it doesn't stand up well by itself in handcart mode, since the loading platform is not flush with floor. This can be frustrating if there's nowhere to lean it immediately prior to loading. Also, I'd love to have some built-in eye loops for bungee cords.

This is a a very practical item. We did some research and found there are not many options for this type of product. this is exactly what we were looking for. My daughter is a photographer and she is only 5'1." She needed it to pull around school to take photos. With a few bungy cords, she is able to use it for some of her equipment, as well.
