This is a mechanically sound monopod. But, the neoprene grip and even the case is so nasty smelling I can't keep it in the house. I keep it in the car trunk. If you had shirt pocket stuffed with mothballs, it is that strong. Cheap grip material.

I shoot a lot from a monopod when I am on the run.
        Steady and fast.

I LOVE this one. LIGHT. and tall, (I am over 6 feet tall)

...and I prefer the snap locks as they are quick & secure (they are also adjustable with an allen wrench if they loosen up over time due to wear...)

Comments about Davis & Sanford TrekkerPro Professional Monopod - Supports 12 lbs (5.4kg):

I borrowed one of these from my brother, and fell in love so I had to come back and get one for me. I'm only 5'4", and this monopod (with a tilt head added on top) works out to be exactly the right height for me if I leave the last segment collapsed. That means there's zero adjustment needed to get ready to shoot - just extend the top two segments and go! I love it. Sure, I could shave off a few ounces going with something shorter, but then I'd have to fuss with the length, as no one makes them as short as I'd like ;)

The monopod feels sturdy when I'm shooting, and the latches work smoothly and hold tight. No complaints at all about the quality.

Comments about Davis & Sanford TrekkerPro Professional Monopod - Supports 12 lbs (5.4kg):

            Opening:
The monopod itself was secured in its carrying bag which was within a box. The monopod comes with the needed tools for tightening/loosening of screws & parts.

            Monopod:
The build of the monopod feels solid but only time & use will tell. The locks also feel solid and after a few uses I've had no issues. There was a strong odor from the foam grips. For me, this odor was neither good or bad smelling and after a few days has gone down tremendously.

Comments about Davis & Sanford TrekkerPro Professional Monopod - Supports 12 lbs (5.4kg):

I would like to own a more expensive Manfrotto with the mini legs but for that price, I would be too cautious where and when I used it. The TrekkerPro can go anywhere and I don't think twice about messing it up or getting it dirty. Used it to film my boys at the playground. Floor was wet and muddy from the rain but that didn't stop me and my TrekkerPro.

Used it a couple times and the only complaint I have it the handle strap is too short. Could be a few inches longer.

Carry case is decent quality and it comes with two tools for adjustments.

I am using this monopod with a full-sized body and a 100-400 zoom lens and have had no difficulties with it "sinking" due to the weight. I appreciate its compact size and light weight, but Mr.O's review is correct: The neoprene stinks!

I used this monopod with my camcorder to get good videos of the Panama Canal, which I visited recently on a cruise. Although not perfect, it enabled me to get wonderful and memorable videos of the canal which I am thankful for.
The monopod was very compact and easy to set up and use with my camcorder.

Seems to be a fairly well made device for its price. The leg locks snap into place quickly and hold firmly. The included tool kit is an excellent idea to make sure that all the mechanical parts will remain sturdy after repeated use. I have used it with a long telephoto lens (400 mm on a film camera, 1/250 sec) and it significantly improves sharpness compared to hand-holding.

Comments about Davis & Sanford TrekkerPro Professional Monopod - Supports 12 lbs (5.4kg):

I would say this thing could hold well over 12 lbs. I wanted something that could support a fair amount of weight if I was using it as a walking stick, but could also steady my < 1 lb camcorder for better video. I think this device is designed to hold a 12 lb camcorder. It's large enough and heavy enough i'll probably never use it as a walking stick. Also, the mount seems to catch on the camcorder when screwing the camcorder to the monopod. nothing major but annoying. I haven't used it with a still camera. I'll keep looking for a good walking stick that has a camera mount. It would be markedly better to use this than hauling around a tripod though.

Comments about Davis & Sanford TrekkerPro Professional Monopod - Supports 12 lbs (5.4kg):

I use the pod as a support when taking spherical images with a fisheye, and also for tele and low light use. It is tall, light and strong, with good extension locks.
The foam padding on the handle, however, has a dreadful stench. You must immediately cut it off and discard it, and the included carry bag as well--it simply will not air out! I am sewing some suede leather padding on to mine, after cleaning the grip area with alcohol.

Used this to support my AF Zoom-NIKKOR 80-200mm f/2.8D ED during a wedding ceremony. I don't know what I would have done with out it. I was worried that other reviews said it was flimsy. I don't know that it would support other lenses for sports, etc that are super heavy. But this was great. I will be using it over and over again. It is very durable. My brother has one that was more expensive and they both seem exactly the same. Don't let some of the reviews fool you when it says that these are flimsy.

I use this mono for my telephoto lenses and/or low light. I've only used it one time so far but it screws onto the camera and keeps it steady. 'nuf said. That's what I bought it for.
It may not be what you need if you use the large fixed focal lenses but it's okay for the small lenses that I use.

This Monopod works great with my Canon XH-A1s. It's surprisingly heavy-duty for the price and weight. I know it's not the intended use, but I often use the monopod as a sort of boom-pole to get interesting shots.

I did have a little trouble getting the foot to adjust from metal spike to rubber foot. But, that's probably just operator error.

This is a mechanically sound monopod. But, the neoprene grip and even the case is so nasty smelling I can't keep it in the house. I keep it in the car trunk. If you had shirt pocket stuffed with mothballs, it is that strong. Cheap grip material.
