I got this tripod as an upgrade. I like it because it is sturdy versatile and affordable. The pan and tilt features are smooth and secure. Since it's a grounder there's quite a bit of adjustment in height. All of the adjustments are easy to make and are secure.

It folds down to a compact size and comes with a nice padded case, that has a side pocket for adjustment wrenches and the removable pan tilt handles.

The biggest drawback is the weight, 4 lbs. If you can get by that, then this should be fine. I'm considering replacing the head with the FX 10 fluid head for video, but that will add more weight.

This a very good..and cheap tripod..easy to carry, not heavy, easy to use, the only problem is that is that the clamps are made of plastic, but is not made to last, but to work just for a awhile, until you brought a really professional one...the 3-way head is a really cold feature.it can be uses on others tripods.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

This tripod is a good start for someone entering into pro photography, but I definitely understand some of the limitations it has. It doesn't feel well built, though it seems relatively stable with an SLR attached to it. The Clamps on the legs are made of plastic and seem like they probably won't last. The overall height isn't bad but its also not that tall fully extended. On the plus side, Its smaller legs does mean that it is very small when collapsed and is extremely portable. The head is smooth in its rotations. The handles are cheaply made and you will feel it. The bag works but it feels extremely cheaply made. Overall this tripod is a good deal for the price, however I would strongly recommend if you are looking at this for Pro-photography, look for one a bit higher quality.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

As a simi-pro photographer I was looking for a reasonably price, well made tripod. Far and away the best value for money tripod I have found. Of course a lighter carbon fiber tripod would have been nice, but the voyager, and the included head are fabulous!! At 1/4 the cost!!!!!!

        Excellent piece of equipment

        By Nick

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

There are a lot of tripods out there and separating the wheat form the chaff is tough, especially in the lower price range. This tripod looked like a pretty good deal online and the website seemed to reassure me that the features I was looking for were present. This has a metal head that is well built, the leg locking mechanisms are plastic but seem to work well, there are levels in all the right places, it is not heavy, but certainly feels sturdy and well built, most tripods in this range feel flimsy, this definitely doesn't. It folds down to a decent length. As a bonus it comes with it's own carry bag! It would be nice if it had a little more height, but at the price, that is a minor gripe. Bear in mind that it is still only $66 bucks and it's not going to compete with the really expensive tripods out there, but I would certainly stack this up to tripods that I researched that were in the $120-150 range.

I just purchased the Vista Voyager FZ10 tripod. I was looking for a good amatuer tripod that I could use for a Canon HD Vixia Camcorder and a Sony Alpha 57 DSLR. The B&H Pro recommended it. Less than $. The tripod is solid and easy to use. Great support and features. No problem holding DSLR weight even with a 250 Zoom. Would highly recommend it.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

I am using a Canon 5D Mark II with standard lens and telephotos. I started using this tripod for landscape and constellation photography, but later turned it for studio use. It perfectly holds all the weight of the camera and has a good stability. The cons for this tripod is that 1) it's a bit heavy compared to other tripods I used (more expensive) with similar height and max load; 2) one of the two clamp handles need to be screwed off to fit in the carrying bag. I would recommend this product if you are using it at home or carrying it with a car and not using it often when traveling, because it has a very competitive price and a fairly good performance. But if you are traveling alone often and taking your camera+lenses in a backpack and attach your tripod on the bag, this tripod might be a little heavy. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

Very high quality for the price. Sturdy, easy to use, nice features. I use it for a JVC GC-PX100 video camera. The tripod is very sturdy for this size camera or any DSLR, unless you're using a very large lens. It folds down to a very compact size, and comes with a nice carry bag. Highly recommended.

I bought this little tripod to do landscape photography. To my surprise its small but a real sturdy tripod. it feels really solid and its lightweight with a lot of different range leg adjustment. The locks to adjust the length of the leg feels a bit frail but so far they haven't slip. I place a D7000 with battery grip vertically and it didn't even attempt to tip over. Its a great starter Tripod.

This product was purchased as a gift for my daughter. Very simple to assemble out of the box. Very good tripod for the beginner photographer. It allows you to get down low(11") and up to a max height of 58". One does have the ability to change heads down the road if they choose. The quick release legs locks work well and easily. The tripod bag is an additional plus for transport and storage. At 10 lbs. it may be a little heavy for the beginner but it wouldn't hurt my daughter to build up a little more muscle.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

After a couple of weeks of using this tripod, this thing blows the one I was using (Sunpak 6400PG) out of water. It's a very stable tripod to do lots of things with. I mainly use this to do long exposures of railroad equipment, and this tripod stays put very well. I'd recommend it to anyone. I also like the three-way head a lot because it gives me a lot of versatility (which the 6400PG had with its pistol-grip head) on uneven ground, and if you do long exposures of railroad equipment, you'll know what I mean.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Vista Voyager Tripod with FZ10 3-Way Head:

I have a MarkII and it's rather heavy so I needed a sturdy tripod. I love the two levels and the handles make it easy to position in any direction. It folds up pretty small but is rather heavy. I really like the case but I don't like the fact that I have to remove the handles before I can put it away. I have used it alot and would definitely recommend this to a friend.
