International Orders*The Impact Quikbox (24 x 24") is a great way to expand the capabilities of your on-camera, shoe-mount flash. The Quikbox lives up to its name by popping open and assembling in a couple of minutes. Just pop open the softbox, add the diffusers and included adapter ring and shoe adapter, mount on a lightstand and you're ready to shoot.
Using a softbox with your shoe-mounted flash will help to diffuse and to evenly distribute the light output of the flash. This will help to reduce those harsh shadows which are often the result of flash photography. Also included is an internal diffuser, to minimize the possibility of hotspots. In addition, the recessed front face helps to control light spill.
The included flash bracket is adjustable vertically, and features a universal shoe which is adjustable horizontally. These adjustments make this unit compatible with virtually all standard flash units (incl. Nikon SB-900 & SB-910), as well as radio receivers. In addition, for those receivers that do not feature a bottom shoe connector, the bracket shoe is removable to expose a male 1/4"-20 screw. There are also three plastic washers included in the shoe assembly, to accommodate receivers of various sizes.

I primarily bought this softbox for my speedlite because I wanted to control where my light went, I wanted nice soft lighting for portraits and I wanted something portable. I first started shooting off-camera flash with a shoot-through umbrella. I love shooting with an umbrella because it's easy. But I soon found that when I wanted to control where my light was going, I was going to need another modifier, a softbox.
What I like about this softbox is that it seems very durable. Popped open, this thing is solid and rigid. I was afraid at first to fold it flat because some of the rods inside didn't feel like they folded correctly to me, but once I figured out what corners to fold it was much easier.
Another thing I like is the silver lining in the inside, it sorta gives my flash an extra boost, like it's a tad more powerful than it really is.
The bracket that it comes with is very light and made out of durable plastic. One thing to note is that you cannot angle the softbox because the bracket is in a fixed position. That isn't an issue for me because I mount it on a pin at the end of a boom arm which I can point anywhere.
I also love that it is meant to be taken places easily. Getting it set up is painless and when it's windy outdoors, this handles it much better than an umbrella.
Again, if you own a speedlite, this is a great softbox for it. It provides great soft lighting for portraits. The last shoot I did with this was of two people, 2/3 of the body and this softbox provided more than enough light. Not sure how it would do with lighting full body shots of say 3 or 4 people, but for what I've done so far it is great.

What I like:
• Decent quality light if you can get the outer diffuser to fit properly.
• Bracket is just large enough to use a Pocket Wizards Flex TT5 with a full size Speedlite mounted on top like the Canon 580 EX II. (see photo)
• Quality carrying case, in fact the case feels like it's better quality than the soft box itself.
What I don't like:
• The inner diffusion screen has a terrible hook system that can take a bit to attach.
• The outer diffusion screen doesn't completely fit leading to light leak from the corners or wherever you can't get complete coverage from it. I basically had to stretch mine to get it to almost fit, luckily I didn't rip it. (see photo)
• The box itself fits quite loosely on the mounting bracket, won't take much at all to knock it off. Still solid enough for outdoor use with minimal wind though.
• The mounting bracket does not tilt so if you need to angle the box at all you'll need another bracket.
Summary:
Overall it's not a bad purchase for the money but they need to pay more attention to the little details of this product. It's definitely a smarter buy than the Lastolite equivalent as I can't find hardly any difference between the two. A better outer diffuser and the inclusion of a tilting bracket and this would have been a four star product.

Comments about Impact Quikbox Softbox (24 x 24"):
I would not recommend this Impact Softbox to anyone.
First off the getting the first diffusion sheet on is a pain as it does not Velcro on, the second sheet is not nearly big enough as other reviewers have pointed out so it becomes a pain to get it set up not to mention that the adjustable hotshoe is not that good as using my Yungnuo 560II and Yungnuo Trigger it can barely fit inside the opening.
Also, I had to return it as the screw that locks it into a lightstand or bipod broke and snapped the plastic outside of it rendering it useless right before a photoshoot (my assistant had to hold the box by hand for the rest of the shoot).
I returned it and got the Lastolite EZbox and should have done so the first time around.
The Lastolite is much, much easier to set up, you can adjust the hotshoe in more ways and I can literally slide and lock my Yungnuo wireless trigger into the plastic adapter for the hotshoe that is on the Lastolite version by default and adjust my flash perfectly so that it's snug and inside the opening of the softbox in no time at all.
The build quality of the lastolite is better as well and the diffusion sheets are made of higher quality and are bigger and easier to put on making it truly a portable and fast option for soft/excellent lighting.
So with that said I'd give this 3/5 stars and recommend saving up your money and getting the Lastolite Ezbox.

The thing looks like it'll be fine. I plan to leave it set up, so whether or not that's easy to do isn't an issue with me. This is my first softbox, and if I have a concern, it's the plastic (fiberglass?) mount for my Speedlite (not sure how the others are done). It'll be fine in a studio setting, but much of my work will be outdoors with a long hand-held pole, and it feels like a heavy kite up there. We'll see.

Okay, so I want to pursue some studio photography to fill a bit of my time in the cold weather of winter. I didn't want to spend tons of money, but I was a bit apprehensive about the quality of this unit when looking at the price. To my amazement, this piece is well constructed and works as well, if not better, than I was hoping it would. I purchased the 'kit' that includes the softbox, light stand and umbrella bracket.
I use it with my SB 900, and it has yielded some very satisfactory results. I'm confident there are more professional pieces of equipment, but equally as confident the price would have been much, much higher.
I'm truly amazed that they can sell this 'kit' for the money I spent on it.

To be honest, I was about to buy the Lastolite EZBox. I watched a video by Scott Kelby and he recommended the Impact version. I'm a wedding photographer, and I needed a softbox that was fast to set up and would work with speedlights. This product fit the bill perfectly, and I saved money by ordering the Impact over the other brand. The quality seems very good. I've used it on two photo shoots, and it pops open pretty easily. The bracket works well, although you'll need an additional swivel as the bracket does not move up or down to point the box at an angle. Overall this seems like a very well designed product that does what it is supposed to, at a good price.

Very well built product, double diffusers creates beautiful light. The clips on the interior diffuser are small but not hard to install once you get the hang of it. Wish the mounting bracket was 1/2" longer to accommodate radio receivers better.
Would definitely suggest this to someone for quick set up, the case is high quality storing everything needed in the exterior pocket.

You cannot tell the difference between this and indoor studio lighting. To maintain the TTL capabilities of the Nikon flash I opted for the 30' cord ($) opposed to remotes ($). Maybe since used with a Nikon D3, which is very sensitive to light with a higher dynamic range, has played a part but it's got to work well for all cameras.

I just got this item last week, and had practically no practice time prior to my first job with it on Saturday. Set-up couldn't be any easier, and with both the inner and outer diffuser panels, the light that it casts is beautifully soft, as I might expect from a more expensive product.
The main problem I have with it, is how the softbox hangs on the speed ring. It's perfectly fine for shots where it is aiming straight out, or tilted downward, however, if I want to use it as the bottom light in a "clamshell" arrangement, with my beauty dish, for example, it can only be tilted in an upward direction so far, before it wants to fall off of the speed ring. This can be overcome by simply asking the model to hold the front edge of it while they're posing. It's not ideal, but it works very well. This is the first modifier I've used, other than my umbrellas, and compared to those, it provides MUCH nicer light, and doesn't spray as much of it all over the studio as the umbrellas.

I like this little softbox. It is easy to setup and breakdown. Provides a nice soft light for portrait or even interior architectural work. Folding the unit and storing it was a little challenging at first but became easier after using the unit a few times. Only concern is the mount for the flash. When I had the flash mounted on a trigger system and placed onto the softbox stand it was difficult to get a tight placement of the flash that was flush to the back opening on the softbox. Overall a good value for the price.

This softbox does just what it is supposed to do -- diffuse the light from an off-camera flash. It's a good size for portrait head-shots, but can be used for somewhat larger subjects with a powerful flash and by moving farther away. I like the black wings at the edges; they cut overspill. The interior diffuser is hard to attach and remove because the clips are difficult to open with one hand, but I replaced these with small S-hooks and now I have no problems with a feature that many users have disliked. The inner and outer diffusers can be left in place when the softbox is folded for travel. The speed-ring is plastic but seems sturdy. However, I would have preferred a speed-ring that included an adjustable tilting mechanism.
