The B+W 58mm Digital-Pro UV Haze MRC 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention. The Digital-Pro mount refers to the brushed chrome filter ring opposed to a standard black ring.

reading about all the different filters, i was admittedly a skeptic, as they all looked/sounded the same. the sample images included with each product description didn't inspire me with confidence, either, but that was likely just a limitation of my computer screen.
the filter is solidly built and sturdy. the silver ring looks great against the black outer casing of the camera lens. after doing some before/after tests with the filter, it really does eliminate some of the glare/shine/blue-ness that i didn't realize existed. it screws on tightly to the end of the lens and the lens cap also fits well to the filter.
i'm happy with this product, but am sad that it took me so long to get around to buying it. gonna buy filters for the rest of my lenses now.

I am a big fan of B+W filters (and a big fan of B&H for that matter) but don't waste your time with the "Digital-Pro" model which costs more. All it is from what I can tell the same UV Haze MRC 010M filter, but instead of a more aesthetically pleasing black it comes in bright silver. It is my fault for not noticing the difference on the B&H website and I was surprised when this bright silver filter arrived to put on my EF 85mm f/1.8 and 7D combo. It just looked out of place.

I purchased this filter for the olympus 75mm F1.8 lens. Works good but the color is a bit off the color of the lens. That said, the filter itself is just working very well

Comments about B+W 58mm Digital-Pro UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
I love that I can always order a B+W UV Haze filter for every new lens I purchase and know that it will be quality every time. The only surprise with this particular filter was the color, I had expected black. However, I had not read the description carefully so I ended up with a silver filter. The filter is still the typical great B+W quality!

I like that this filter has a metal ring rather than plastic. With it being silver colored, it is easy to distinguish it from other filters that might also be on at the same time.

I chose this filter for my Canon G1 X not only to protect the lens but to eliminate some of the haze. I have only used it for a couple weeks but my photos seem to be more clear. It screws on easily to the adapter ring. For me, a quality filter and very worthwhile investment.

I wanted a good lens protector for my Canon 50mm 1.4 usm lens. I like the quality of the protector with a nice silver rim. It is made in Germany. Out of the box, it has a good sturdy heavy feel to it.

I have this filter on all my lenses as a protective filter. It mounts firmly to the lens and has threads on the front for other filters to mount. I would definitely recommend this due to quality of the filter. It's top notch!

Comments about B+W 58mm Digital-Pro UV Haze MRC 010M Filter:
This protective UV filter doesn't detract from image quality at all as far as I can see. But what I like most is the quality metal construction. Having a nice metal-ringed filter on the end of my Canon kit lens makes it look way cooler.
