Really wanted to get organized by now, however, NeatDesk is not up and running after trying to download and set up software. I have tried twice now to set it up. It may not seem like a long time, but loading then having to uninstall takes time; more then I would like to bother with. Based on a lot of the reviews (after buying product) there is obviously a problem with the set up process. I will make one final attempt. If it does not go through, it will be heading back. Apparently the NeatDesk company has an awesome dislaimer, it must be returned to the agency your purchased it from. Apparently they(NeatDesk) do not believe in their product to stand behind it. Sorry this review is on the negative side, but think before you purchase. Lots of bugs still need to be worked out. Have no clue if it really works or not. So my answer would be...NO.

After resisting for a long time I bought this for my wife's Christmas Gift. I kept telling her we could use the scanner we already have, but she really needs something more "Plug and Play"!

I got the scanner and decided I would set it up before Christmas so she could just start using it. Setup was extremely easy, and the software really does do wonders for organizing things that I always say I will do but never do.

I set up the Device and Software and immediately started scanning. It said it would accept 15 business cards at a time so I put 15 in and hit the start button. Worked fine so I scanned the rest of a big pile that I had saved for years.

It does take a little while to understand how the files are organized, and to realize that the software takes a little time to process the scans and OCR them during which time it looks like nothing has happened.

Next I scanned a few articles that I have been wanting to have in electronic format. Cut the pages out and put them all in the tray and sure enough things went well. Again, the software appeared slow, but it didn't affect the scanning so I didn't mind. Then I noticed that all of the scans were queuing up waiting for my review, editing, and descriptions and that is why they weren't showing up as if they were done! Not so slow after all!

Then I did Receipts. I initially had issues with them because I didn't notice that I had manually set the scan type (which I like better than the auto for some reason) and it was scanning receipts as if they were documents. I set up the input for Receipts and it did a fantastic job.

I am now ready to show my wife how easy everything works, and I may just be using her present quite a bit.

This product does everything that it claims, and although it isn't quite as intuitive as I thought it would be, I think that was just my expectation and had nothing to do with the functionality or performance of the product

I have 2 of these scanners for my business and had planned on adding more. I do not use the included software, I only scan searchable PDF's and save them in my own filing system. My problems began when I upgraded to their "new enhanced software". Neatwork's forces you to register when you upgrade by providing your email address and creating a password, however the submit button remained "greyed out" and I could not register or USE the software. Most software at least gives you a grace period to register.
I emailed tech support because I could not find a phone number and they emailed me back several days later. Once I got a tech on the phone he could not figure out the problem and said he had to "escalate" the call and placed me on hold for 45 minutes until they closed. Two emails, two phone calls resulting in them connecting to my computer twice and I was told that they would "write a file to override the registration process" I asked how long I could expect this to take and I was told "usually within 24 hours". I guess they felt bad that I was unable to use the scanner for the better part of two weeks that they waited three more days to send me an email telling me to "install the attached file" The only problem was that THEY FORGOT TO ATTACH THE FILE TO THE EMAIL!
Everything finally works. Good product - Bad company, horrible tech support.

I'm using this product for both Home and Business. I'm learning how to use it and it seems well. The only problem I'm having with it, is getting the reports that I need for the IRS.

i purchased this unit after i saw their advertising. i figured if it works as they said it would i think it has potential to make my life little easier. i have used it for about two months now. i think it delivers what they promised for the most part. scanning is convenient and organizing and accessing stored document was relatively easy. ocr needs work since it has difficult time recognizing and categorizing business cards and receipt if they have unusual lay out.
but the reason i'm giving them one star is their customer service. (or lack of) first of all, they don't have telephone number. they just have email address. when you email them with questions or problems in my case (it stopped scanning altogether) it takes them about 5 days (!!!) reply. and when they do they just point you to FAQ section of their website. kickers is on that email they have line says "case status" and next it says "resolved". WHAT? resolve what? took you 5 days to tell me to go to FAQ and indicate it's "resolved".
i am going to throw this garbage out. don't waste your money. get something that has more legitimate customer service... or take your chance it will never breakdown.

Well, I have never won a thing in my life but here goes. I am very pleased with my NeatDesk. It is doing everything it is supposed to do . I have not found a thing to gripe about yet. It was a breeze to set up and start using and when I am not sure about something it only takes a few seconds to look up the problem and go back and watch the video concerning it. I love it. I can say right now that it has shortened my day.

Very easy to use. Put your documents, receipts, or business cards in, press a button, and it scans. Scans both sided, which is great. I was using a flat bed scanner, prior to this, and it takes forever to scan sheets page by page.

The only thing that is a con, is that there is no adjustable paper guide... so, if you have documents that is smaller then the 3 sizes... the paper can move during the scanning process.

I have been in business for over 30 years and I have ALWAYS had a disaster of a desk - full of papers and disorganized. I set this thing up and a couple of days later my desk was clear of papers and organized. I also scanned all of my 2011 files into the database and used my space for other things. I can do keyword searches and it takes you right to the image you are looking for. The business card operation is also fast, easy, and accurate. NeatDesk has some glitches and is quirky at times, but it has gotten me organized. Scanning into PDF format is a plus.

One of the best scan software on the market. fast, allows many options, and user friendly. it is one of the most valuable electronic hardware in my office. I do own two of these!!!

OCR is great, and fast. None of the other scanners I owe can compare to this one. No second party software to bother with. Comes with a great filing system.

This product looks good on paper but never works properly. I scan Contracts and sometime it takes me 30-40 times to get it to work, if it does at all. Sometime even one page won't scan correctly. And it always goes in unevenly. I would never recommend to buy this product.

I use the Scanner to archive all my files on my computer and also to manage all receipts that are related to work. I am a private contractor and it makes my life much easier not having to keep track of a bunch of little pieces of paper. The software is easy to use and helps keep things very organized.
