Comments about MC-10 Maintenance Cartridge for Canon IPF650/655/750/755:

So this part is essentially a plastic case to catch all the ink sludge from the cannon ipf755 that gets generated while printing large format documents. Your plotter prints, and i guess deposits the leftover goo into into this plastic cartridge. It functions well with little mess when changing the cartridge, but its got a feature that regulates how many times you can print to the cartridge (ie how much sludge) it will catch, before it must be replaced... Its not by weight (as we opened our first once and removed the inky goop and it wouldn't accept the old cartridge as new), but by either time active or pages printed. So to me this begs the question of why we must pay $[$] for a piece of plastic thats only job is to catch ink goop every few months? And if you want to reuse these things, why wouldn't a washed out piece of plastic be available? Like the ink, it seems like just another way for Cannon to bleed its customers like stuck pigs... So I'll buy it, and I'll use it. But I wont be happy about it...
