Comments about Trek-Tech STAR Ballhead for MagMount - Supports 9 lbs (4.1kg):

I bought this head to use with a Gorillapod Zoom. The wingbolt used to tighten the ball once positioned cannot be tightened because it will not clear the disc shaped plate to which the head is mounted on the Gorillapod. I am sure this will be the case with most tripods. I had to make a replacement for the wingbolt by using a 5mm setscrew. I ground a point on the tip of the setscrew and epoxied an allen wrench into the socket end making sure the allen wrench was long enough to clear the obstruction. Then I had to cut the handle end of the allen wrench short enough to clear the camera. I believe this will now work for me, but you may run into the same problem if you are not using with a Trek-Tech tripod.

Comments about Trek-Tech STAR Ballhead for MagMount - Supports 9 lbs (4.1kg):

Bought this product for use with a belt pod. It is so much easier and quicker to remove the camera from the pod when needed to get the perfect shots. Connecters can also be added to each of my cameras facilitating switching back and forth on the same pod. This is a very efficient system that I would highly recommend.

I just going to tell oyu that if you have accesories to mount on a rig this is the best option you have. Amazing easy to use, to install and the magnets are so strongs that will hold recorders, lights and more.
