AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss)

The black/moss AquaTech Sensory Gloves are built for both cold and wet environments, and provide superior fingertip control thanks to their unique design advantage.

There's a fleece covering where the glove meets the wrist and all upon the areas where the fingers extend from your palm, providing great resistance to cold.  But the thumb and index finger are sealed in a thin, fine layer of neoprene, and upon the tip of this neoprene there is a small hole meant to allow the very end of either digit to extend outside of the glove for precision control of equipment.

The body of the Sensory Glove is made from several panels stitched together, instead of a seamless piece of fabric, because this provides a better fit to your hand.  Sensory Gloves are tough and made to withstand many seasons of harsh winter use.

Fleece seal for wrist, and fleece cover for fingertips
Special stitched hole allows thumb or index finger to extend beyond glove's confines when desired
Exterior Waterproof breathable outer shell
Silicon nubbed palm for superior grip
Interior Double fast drying breathable insulation layers
Fleece seal for wrist and fleece cover for fingertips thumb and index finger for control
Sizing Length from middle finger to wrist: 8.7" (22.0 cm)
Adjustability Adjustable wrist lanyards to hold gloves to your jacket

This product arrived the day I left for a two week gig shooting a doc on skydiving. We would be camping and the weather report called for cold/rainy conditions off and on...NO PROBLEM. Aside from needing a little more warmth on the exposed fingers during shooting, these gloves were top notch.

While I don't recommend them for heavy use, they make a big difference when you've got a camera in your hands. They kept my hands warm and dry, and it took zero effort to pop my fingers out when I needed them. It takes one swift motion and you can do it with one hand. I felt like a rockstar!

I recommend checking out the sizing specs on another site before choosing size. And THEN you can order them, because you should.

Comments about AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss):

I am using this product for wildlife photography in temperatures from 15 - 50 degrees Fahrenheit. In 10 degrees you will still want to put your hands in your pocket when you can do it to stay warm. Nevertheless, these relatively lightweight gloves keep me surprisingly warm.PROS - Warmer than very thick leather gloves - Lightweight - Comfortable - Easy to put on and take off - Cuffs to avoid losing gloves is excellent - They serve their purpose well.C0NS - Material in glove will melt instantly in proximity to a flame; I have an extra hole in my right glove thumb from using a cigarette lighter to start a small fire. It would be nice if the gloves were water, and flame resistant! I default to real leather gloves for opening plastic dog poop bags because the griping power of these gloves does not include any of the fingertips. For example to open a plastic dog poop bag I have to rub the bag in my palms to open the bag to get traction which is awkward. Highly recommend for photography, but the gloves are not made be general purpose high grip gloves for opening dog poop bags, really anything where you might want multiple fingertip grip even though the thumb and forefinger are available fairly easily. Again warm, comfortable, and great gloves for photography.

Order a size larger and it will fit perfectly. It grips your camera well. Well thought out and designed. Good purchase for cold weather photographers. If real cold, teens to zero you need a hand warmer insert to stay warm or use your pockets. Well made glove. I would purchase again.

I bought these to use while photographing Eagles in the Winter season. Had been using hunter mittens but these are warmer as there are access holes in the forefinger and thumb for camera controls without the whole top of the hands being exposed.

          No complaints so far!

Comments about AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss):

I wear these gloves when I am handling cameras and other electronics in the cold. They have good grips and I feel like I have good control over my equipment. The only thing is I wish that the holes for my finger and thumb were a little bigger as I cannot get my fingertips out of them.

Well-built and warm with goor access to the two holes in each hand for access to camera controls. However, I was warned to order one size larger that I would normally order. So I ordered extra-large when my normal glove size is large. The extra-large fit just right.

I work in Southern California at the beach to the mountains so the weather is a fair balance of mild cold, wet and windy in the winter. In a light snow flurry with wet and cold wind the gloves worked very well. In the rain they keep your hands reasonably dry and warm. I ordered the x large glove where I typically am a large and they fit perfect ,so order up at least one size.

These are slightly warmer than the Lowepro gloves I replaced. The finger and thumb holes work well but do take a little maneuvering to get your finger out. On my last outing with these gloves my hands did get a little cold, temperature was in mid teens with windchill in single digits. I took the others advice and ordered the x-large, I would normally wear Large but these fit well.

Comments about AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss):

These gloves are warm enough for general temperatures down to about the 20 degrees Farenhite that I have used them. The openings for the finger and thumb are required for the dexterity needed to operate the finer controls on my Nikon DSLR. Without bearing my thumb and forefinger, I can't make ISO adjustments or exposure compennsation or switching from Aperature Priority to manual with the gloves on. Good thought went into an inner shield to protect your fingers from those openings when you aren't operating the camera. If I was looking to operate my camera down to temperatures around 38-40 degrees, I'd just use winter golf gloves as they have better dexterity. Below that, this type of glove is needed.

I used the measuring method given and wound up with too small of gloves. I had to reorder to get the fingers long enough for my long hands. B&H was awesome with the return/credit process.

Comments about AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss):

These are great for people with large hands. The other photography gloves I have tried were all undersized and the elastic wrist band caused my thumbs to flex inward. I used these gloves on a skiing trip to Utah. Temps in the 20's. I did add a glove liner for the snowmobiling. My hands never got cold! I used them in Florida this past week and nearly froze my fingers off. My point is their size is true, but if it is really cold use a liner. Sticking a cold finger through the finger holes is no fun!

When I ordered these, I thought they might be a bit gimmicky. I was wrong. They are very well designed and really aid cold weather shooting. The fit is exceptional. They are warm enough for a day into the mid 20s. The finger access is great. They also have elastic straps to hang them from your wrists so you will not lose them when you need to take them off.

Currently I live in Maryland but have lived in Northern Utah, Michigan, and New York. When the wind whistles across the hill tops and there is no cover of sorts--it is still cold on the unprotected skin no matter where you live. These gloves were very protective while photographing the recent lunar eclipse. Over the hours, I was constantly adjusting both the focal point to follow the moons path and shutter speed-the gloves were marvelous and performed as advertised.

Comments about AquaTech Sensory Gloves (X-Large, Black/Moss):

These are an excellent choice for winter shooting. They have small round holes in the thumbs and second fingers. The holes are cut out in neoprene and enable you to easily operate the control knobs and buttons on cameras of any type.

In extreme cold conditions, silk liners are recommended.

One surprise when opening the package is the incredible lightweight design. They offer good warmth and weigh mere ounces.

They do have a long lanyard drawstring which can easily get in the way. And the wrist is a bit snug, causing you to have to open the wrist strap for ease of entry.

I would recommend one size larger than you normally wear.
