I purchased this as an entry level filter holder, and for that purpose it does the job. I had been hand holding my GND filters over the lens and that works fine for faster shutter speeds but not for anything over a 1/4 second since it introduces the opportunity to touch the lens and move the camera.

I priced out the 100 mm filters and holders and they are very steep. I will have to stick to the 85m systems. I have a couple of wide lenses. The Nikon 17-35mm 2.8 and the 20mm 2.8d.

On the 17-35 using the 77mm adapter ring and NO other filters there is no vignette if I keep the filter holder aligned with the Horizon. If I turn it 10 or more Degrees off horizontal I start to see the edges of the holder in the corners.

On the 20mm I can get away with rotating the filter all the way around IF I do not have a screw in filter on the camera. If I put on a screw in filter on the lens and then put the cokin in the front, then I get vignetting when I rotate the filter.

Much cheaper than the 100mm setup and does 90% of what I need.

Also, I have never owned the normal version with multiple filter mounting so I don't have any frame of reference to describe how this one may differ.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

Similar to the Cokin CBP400A (which holds 3 filters), this model is slightly thinner and reduces problems with wide angle lenses (35mm and less). Problems can include vignetting or actual visibility of filter's edge depending on positioning. This filter holder only holds a single filter.Make sure you get the appropriate adapter ring for your thread size. Adapter rings are easy to switch out.

I use it on my L zoom lenses and for most of it this holder works alright. I using the filter holder with a Canon 6D, full size sensor. The holder is very easy to install and is in operation in less than a minute. However, there seems to be nothing close to a 20mm focal length that would not show a vignette in the corners

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

After looking at the Lee system I decided to stick with my existing Cokin filters and try this mount out for my 16-35. It does vignette at its widest but is nice to be able to have some filtration on that lens. It has some sharp edges that could stand to be softened a touch.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

I have cut one of the normal COKIN P-holders so that it can only hold one filter and made the hole bigger. There is in my opinion better since you can grab the filter edge when using pol-filter in. You can not do that in this model, big mistake.
purchase the standard and use a file, it's better.

This holder is looser on the mounting ring than my normal filter holder so make sure you don't accidently bump the filter. This only affects GND's and Polarized filters. Othwrwise,it works as advertised.

Works very well. There is a very little vignetting in the corners with the Nikkor 16-35mm ultra wide angle lens. But since the lens has a large amount of barrel distortion at the 16mm setting, when I correct for the distortion with PTL, it also removes the corner vignetting. I don't have Photoshop, and use this very powerful program to adjust rotation, and perspective distortion as well as vignetting and CA.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

Used to hold a variety of filters (NDs, CPLs), but most useful for holding Graduated Neutral Density filters for landscape photography. Seems to be well made and is an easy to use system. Not as pricy as other filter systems.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

I use this with my 5d w/ 24-105. The regular holder vignettes at wider angles but this one looks great! Can only use one filter at a time, but that's what I do the majority of the time anyway, so it fits my needs perfectly.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

The sales person recommended getting the wide angle rather than the regular holder and he was right. It increases the usefulness without the extra expense and inconvenience of having to carry (and keep up with) more in the field.

Comments about Cokin BPW400 Wide Angle Filter Holder for P Series:

I needed ND grads on a Tokina 11-16mm. At 11mm, most screw-in filters and the regular Cokin holder caused vignetting. This works great on that lens, even at 11mm wide open.
