As part of the RS series, Libec's RS-450M Professional 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod System with Mid Spreader introduces its "free plus 3 steps" drag system along with a counterbalance range of 4.5 to 10.5kg (maximum payload of 12kg). This makes for a smooth, wobble-free image whether panning, tilting, or stopping movement on a dime. A low temperature rating of -40° C/F plus LED bubble illumination lets you continue shooting into the cold of night.
LED level illumination: Ideal for night time shoots.

Comments about Libec RS-450M Professional 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod System with Mid Spreader:
I used to be a Manfrotto-fanboy, but after this purchase I believe I have been converted. This is the highest quality tripod I have ever used. It is sturdy, well built, ergonomic, and easy to set up. I love that the legs are heavy enough that they drop when released. The fluid motion is perfect (no more using rubber bands). No backlash whatsoever. It may feel heavy to some, but it's actually lighter than I expected. Bag is okay, a little hard to zip at times, but it makes hauling these beefy sticks a breeze.
No cons. Absolutely in love.

Comments about Libec RS-450M Professional 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod System with Mid Spreader:
I bought the RS-450M tripod to replace my Manfrotto 519 tripod that I was never happy with. I use it with my JVC GY-HM700 camera. The Libec is well made, sturdy and the drag and counter balance systems work much better than the Manfrotto.
I wasn't impressed with the BR-4B mid-level spreader that came in the package, so I contacted Libec to see if the BR-5S spreader would work...yes it does and it's much better.

Have only used it once but performed as expected. Used it with an HPX and promoter with no problems. It breaks down nicely for travel. I would recommend this system to those on a budget.
