This infrared transmitter can be mounted on, and fired by any standard camera hot shoe (or connected to a PC terminal for off-shoe use). Just slide the compact transmitter onto your camera; no cords, no antenna, nothing to clip to your belt. A pair of "AA" batteries in the transmitter powers up to 5,000 shots, with recycle times averaging less than a second - faster than most any flash.
Each time you shoot, the transmitter fires, and an "explosion" of coded infrared light fills the room, bouncing off walls and around corners. You can't see the signal (neither can your film), but the Pro-Sync receiver does.

Comments about Wein PST-500-1 Pro-Sync 1-Channel Transmitter:
I use it in many application but really love it for doing Wedding Photography. When I use the Wien Transmitter / Receivers I don't have to worry about others trigger off my lighting with their flashes if they want to take a quick photo. It also gives me more versatility when setting up my lighting in odd circumstances.

Comments about Wein PST-500-1 Pro-Sync 1-Channel Transmitter:
Worked really well with my Canon 5D and my old Novotron 4 flash system. Always had problems with sync cords and with the H prong receiver, the photo session went along without a glitch. Very satisfied.

Comments about Wein PST-500-1 Pro-Sync 1-Channel Transmitter:
The Wein Pro Sync One is an IR Slave System. It's an excellent, and reliable solution for event and wedding photography. The IR flash has a very long battery life and recycles quickly. The system is reliable and it fires my vivitar 285 and mono lights every time. See Photos of the Pro sync slave and results of the double lighting I own three of these units[@]Wein Offers Great Customer Service

My camera's sensor could see the red light reflection just fine.
For me this product was not usable.

Comments about Wein PST-500-1 Pro-Sync 1-Channel Transmitter:
It says in the specs you can't see the red light in the image. You see so much red light the thing is entirely unusable for professional purposes.I have the regular Wein transmitter and it's fine, I thought the new version would be better but it is completely useless.[...]I emailed Wein asking to replace, and they didn't even bother to reply.I feel defrauded.
