The green LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight from SureFire is a dual-output LED light featuring a shroudless tactical tailcap switch and a 200-lumen maximum output. A 15-lumen low output is useful for general tasks like reading or close work and extends the battery runtime up to 47 hours. SureFire's Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens produces a pre-focused beam that has a tight center cone of bright light, with a dimmer ring on the periphery to help maintain situational awareness.

This light has a two-way tactical tailcap switching system. Press the pushbutton for momentary-on low output; push it further for momentary high. Turn the tailcap for constant-on low; continue to turn will activate the constant high output. This is the ONLY light I could find that combines a low "task light" setting, a high "things hits the fan" setting, and simple operation with no need to memorize quirky modes/timing procedures. Use the low light for saving power and not ruining your night vision when you wake up in the middle of the night; use the high for signaling or when attacker wakes you up in middle of the night. Four simple modes. For momentary on, push end-cap in lightly for low; press it harder for high light. For constant-on low, twist the end-cap and it stays on low; for high, twist farther and it stays on high. That's it. Four modes. No clicking 3 times to enter this mode or that, no timing to deal with, no cycling through modes to get the one you want -- just INTUITIVE push or twist, or push harder or twist farther. Perfect for panic situation when your instinct is to push hard (max bright) and your brain or fine motor skills won't be working well.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

I carry the Surefire LX2 with me everyday and it has never let me down. This light was my first purchase of a Surefire product. I was hesitant about spending what seems like an awful lot of money for a flashlight. After doing some online research and watching several product reviews I went ahead with the purchase. I am rough on my gear and do not mind paying a premium for over engineered gear that does not have to be babied in order for it to last. I gave it a shot. The quality of this tool is evident as soon as it is removed from the package. The light feels solid and the performance of the beam is flawless. It must also be said that the customer service at Surefire is excellent. I broke the pocket clip due to my own negligence trying to clip it to something that was not a pocket. I was trying to clip it onto something that was too thick and the clip snapped. A quick call to Surefire and no questions asked they had a new part in the mail completely free of charge. Other than that the LX2 is tough. I use it camping, in the rain, it has been through a full wash cycle in my washing machine, banged off rocks, and still functions like it did on day one. The duel output levels are a nice feature. The low setting is what I use most. It is a good amount of light for most tasks. Good wide beam and enough light for finding objects dropped in the dark or navigating a dark path. The high setting it great for outdoor spotting. The beam illuminates a wide area and reaches extremely far. Overall I am satisfied with this light and have purchased the Surefire headlamp to complement this light. I would not hesitate to buy another Surefire product in the future if needed.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

The LX2 is a fantastic light. The 15 lumen setting is nice for small stuff and the 200 lumen setting is incredibly bright! The beam is also great at a distance at night. It's a great personal security tool that is great for every day carry. The tailcap is a bonus for personal security because you don't have to click through three settings to get what you want. You can instantly activate either 15 or 200 lumens. The only thing I've heard is that you should replace the stock pocket clip because it breaks easily. You can easily go to surefire and order a replacement clip for the E2 or E2D flashlight, which is much sturdier and fits the LX2 as well. You don't have to have purhcased the LX2 to be able to get the clip. I got my clip in the mail months before I got the light so I'd have it.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

I bought this light to replace my Outdoorsman which I lost in the Current River in south central Missouri. This is even better than my old light. It has two levels and the high level, at 200 lumens is outstanding. The low level is just right for 90 percent of my needs.

The high level really lights up the dark at quite a distance. If you get hit with it in the dark your vision is done for! This light is not inexpensive, but quality rarely is.

BTW, my lost light served me well for about 7 to 8 years. It was palm beat up but kept on working. At some point I upgraded it with an LED head.

I use the flashlight regularly, have not had a problem with it even after repeated drops onto concrete. The batteries seem to last a lot longer than I would expect on the high power setting. I have also used it in wet weather with no problems.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

As a daily user of this light I can give you a great review on it. This is a replacement for the same light I had lost previously. I love everything about this light except the clip. The clip on it is very fragile and breaks frequently. The reason why I had to buy another one was because the clip broke and it ended up falling out of my cargo short pocket. I wish they would improve it. Surefire has sent me new clips quickly in the past so customer service is not an issue. Ive been through 4 or 5 clips with that last light in the last 3 to 4 years. Other than that it is a great light, very powerful with a low light setting to keep your night vision. I got a couple extra clips last time so I should be good to go as long as I dont loose it before I realize the clip is broken.

After reading the reviews, I anticipated that the LX2 would be good. However, I didn't expect it to be this good. For its size, the power is phenominal and it's so easy to have it on you or around you. A great product.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

One of the smallest but brightest LED lights on the market. Top quality construction.

Four instead of Five stars for the following reasons:

I'd like the button to be able to turn it on and stay on instead of twisting the cap. You have to twist it to turn off and that could possibly cause it to come off if you go too far.

And the belt clip is too long and rubs the cap when you twist it.

Otherwise, I love it. Just ordered the headlight which is always on back order.

Comments about SureFire LX2 LumaMax LED Flashlight (Green):

I use this flashlight when camping, to illuminate remote things (wildlife, etc). For other uses I have a SureFire Saint Minimus headlamp (also great).

As other Surefire products, LX2 is of a superb quality. At 200 lumens, it is VERY bright. Another thing that I really like is how focused the beam is (unlike other flashlights, that have a wider-angle beam). This allows the 200 lumens to reach real far.

                            Extremely bright light
Tailcap is screwed in and out to turn constant beam on or off. Tailcap becomes loose as it is unthreaded to turn the light off.

Blindingly bright, nicely machined with no sharp edges. I own two of these.

Buy the Surefire 123A batteries so you will have them when the included batteries need replacing. You can buy the same size battery anywhere, however those are for cameras and other devices that use energy in pulses. Surefire batteries are high-drain for constant-on use.

The only holster is the V91, and it is black nylon.

The new Surefire LX2 flashlight packs a powerful punch in a small package. Built to last forever. You can put it in your pocket or wear it light up or light down with the 2 way clip. This is a great buy!
