Comments about Netgear MoCA Coaxial-Ethernet Adapter Kit:
I got this to install in a house wired for FIOS. I had read online that this MoCA device would communicate with the FIOS Actiontec router without any issues. I was skeptical - it couldn't be that easy. Or could it?
It was.
The most complicated part of the installation was dealing with the snake pit of cables behind my AV cabinet. Aside from that it was dead simple:
1. Plug in the power adapter for the Netgear box
2. Disconnect the coax from the FIOS set-top box.
3. Run the coax line into a cable splitter. One output goes to the FIOS box, the other to the Netgear box.
4. Wait for the little blue light on the Netgear box to start blinking.
5. Connect an ethernet cable (I ran mine to a 5-port switch to cover my Blu-Ray player and Squeezebox).
Everything worked, first time, without doing anything else. I took the second Netgear box upstairs and plugged an Airport Express into it. Now I have a second wireless network upstairs.
I just love it when things work.
My ONLY quibble (and it's a minor one) is that the configuration software that comes with the kit is Windows only and I am using a Mac. I may never NEED the software, but it would be nice to be able to update firmware, etc. I can do it by using Bootcamp on the Mac, but a native Mac version would be nice.

Comments about Netgear MoCA Coaxial-Ethernet Adapter Kit:
I used it to connect two diffent office buildings about 250ft apart that had an old coax ran underground between them back in the 1980s. I pluged them in and they worked immeadiatly with about 400Mb/s transfer rate. I was impressed.
no cons as of yet.

Comments about Netgear MoCA Coaxial-Ethernet Adapter Kit:
We have only had this product for about a month, but really love it. Since the cable modem and router are in my husband's office, I have always used the electrical wiring system to receive my internet connection. When one of the wall plugs died, I shopped around for a replacement and came across this product. It is noticeably faster and was very easy to hook up. We are getting a network server and plan to see how that works out.
Ask again in 6-12 months.
