I got this for my Nikon D90 with a 18-105 lens and it didn't fit in this case (the body was too big, not just the lens). It was also very flimsy with barely any padding. I returned and got the LowePro holster -[@] - for the same price. Fits better, well-padded, water-proof cover, and pockets.

Comments about Nikon CF-DC2 Semi-soft Case:
I bought this for my Nikon D5200, and the Velcro closure just manages to fasten over the camera with a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II zoom lens attached. It's been perfect for my purposes, since I place my camera in another bag with other necessities, and I wanted something lightweight, low-profile, and easily removable that would protect the camera both inside and outside the bag. It has a little snap that clips over one camera strap to keep the camera from falling out if the Velcro comes undone, which is a nice detail. I can see how, when removed, it might not have a convenient place to go if you don't use a separate bag, but I just put the case in the other bag when it's not in use, so it's not a problem in my case. Overall, it's a durable and well made case that, from what I've seen, provides the slimmest profile for slipping into another bag.

I use this case with my new D5100 and 18-105mm lens. It fit nearly perfectly. My lens a bit too long, but I still can close the top cover nearly completely.
It is a well made case, for shorter lenses, this case will be an excellent one.
By the way, I use this D5100 just for my traveling camera, no more D700 with all those fancy lenses. They are too heavy for traveling, not fun.

Comments about Nikon CF-DC2 Semi-soft Case:
This case is more like a holster than a protective case. I wanted it to be more like the camera cases of old where the hood actually seperated so you could use the camera could be used with the base still attached to the camera.

Comments about Nikon CF-DC2 Semi-soft Case:
This case fits D5100 with 18-105mm (lens hood flipped) perfectly! It's snug but not overly tight. Keep in mind that this case is not really designed for any extra accessories, just camera with lens. To me this is a plus, because this case is as compact as it can be. Also, case does not have strap of it's own. Instead, it has cut-outs for camera strap. It's super easy to put camera in /take it out. Padding is sufficient and it looks like it will last for a very long time. If you are looking to protect your camera without adding any extra bulk, this is the case for you!!!

I used this case for my D3000 and it works wonderfully. I wanted something lightweight that would still protect my camera while backpacking in New Zealand because I couldn't afford to be carrying an extra bag. I was a little worried at first because it did not seem sturdy enough to really protect my camera but I was completely satisfied.

Nikon is first cabin with this case! Very nicely put together, nice material and the D5000 is very comfortable in it. But, I did a dumb thing and upgraded to a D7000, still can use the case on it, just fits like a glove now.

This case is design for Nikon D5000 but I use it for my Nikon D5100. It fits Nikon D5100 with 50mm 1.4 lens with hood on it. It also fits perfectly with nikkor 18-200 mm zoom lens and Tokina 12-24mm lens with Hoya filters and Len caps on it. The only problem is that the hoods of these lenses have to stay home. Other than that it is pretty good.

Comments about Nikon CF-DC2 Semi-soft Case:
This case holds the D5100 and Nikon 18-200 zoom, with lens cap on but no filter, snugly but very securely. I imagine if you had a filter on the lens, as well as a lens cap, it would still fit, but the velcro closure might not overlap completely. For me, this case is about as close to perfect as I could wish for this camera / lens combination. It also holds beautifully the D5100 with the Zeiss 100/2 Makro-Planar.

It is obvious that I use this to cover my Nikon E6000. I like it because it was the right price, Name Branded and easy to use. The only issue I have with is is that it gets a bit awkward when you do the clasp to take a shot. Removing it is easier but then what do you do with it.
