I got two. One cannot be removed off my filter. I will have to use pliers to get it off. The other one started to strip and dethread the moment I tried screwing it onto one of my filters. (It was after that incident that I tried to remove the first ring.)

Comments about General Brand 77mm-82mm Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter):
A cheap step up ring that works fine but is not for heavy use. Be careful not to tighten your filter to much as it will be difficult to seperate from this ring.

It's great for the price. Frequent usage may wear down the aluminum, but for under $,what do you expect?

Comments about General Brand 77mm-82mm Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter):
I use these rings on wide-angle lenses especially. No need to buy a 77mm and an 82mm Circular Polarizer if you buy an 82mm and this ring. It is a quick way to save $100 at least.
This ring is well-made, the threads work quite well and it is reasonably priced. Perfect.

Comments about General Brand 77mm-82mm Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter):
I got the Bower step-up ring so that I wouldn't have to purchase a separate polarizer for my lenses. The ring works fine, but the construction is just a bit on the low grade side. It just doesn't seem to want to attach or detach as simply as it should. It's not horribly problematic, but it does feel cheap. I get the feeling after a bit of usage that the aluminum will start to chip and flake off. I'll probably end up just buying a separate 77mm polarizer.

Build Quality is "good". Not like higher end more expensive Step-up rings, that have a smoother finish and more solid feel, but well worth the money.
