Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
It is pretty basic and seems a little dinky at first sight. All plastic..and seemingly cheaply constructed. But it works fine! Good alternative to more expensive raids if you just have a few drives that you work with and want to simply "back up". I haven't used it many times, but so far, so good. I use it as a way to duplicate my drives that I use as media backup so that I have two versions. Its pretty fast and straightforward. I recommend you read the instructions twice... it always is a bit scary when you press the "Start" button.Make sure the drives in the correct bays.

Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
Inexpensive and very simple to use. Made an exact copy of my laptop's hard drive onto a SSD quite rapidly. The cloned drive worked perfectly from the get-go. This is the first time that I feel confident about having a reliable backup to my hard drive.

Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
I agree with previous reviewers, that it does have pretty basic switches etc. but it seems to perform as advertised. I use it to dupe Windows system HD's for back up. I have not yet found a surer, faster, cheaper way to clone a disk. It is now my primary system backup. It also has the secondary capability of providing you with a USB connection to use any SATA HD as a remote/portable HD.

Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
This is the first time I have been able to make a real backup drive (bootable duplicate of my main drive). I tried software but it never worked. Easy to use creates a perfect copy so if my drive fails, I can put in the duplicate and be running in a few minutes. Same size drive (2T to 2T)is perfect copy. Smaller to larger drive (250gig to 1T) gives a 250 partition size on larger drive. I enlarged the partition with partition magic (now on sale) in a couple of minutes.

Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
This is a great piece of equipment to add to my office.
It not only can provide peace of mind by providing an exact copy of your hard drive but can also be used as an external hard drive.
I wish I had this a few year ago.
Comments about Aluratek External SATA Hard Drive Duplicator:
Copy my new PC OEM HD for backup. Will also use as external dock and future backups.
Copied everything OS through security program all settings intact. Did not have to do anything but boot as normal with the new copy HD in place. Took 2 1/2 hours to copy 500GB so get something to eat watch a movie or go for a walk outside. Easy to use.
Says it won't give more GB of space than origanal HD. Tried 500 into a 640 and saw about 15GB more. Will try to partition before next try. Says it won't copy to smaller HD bummer for SSD converts haven't tried yet to make sure but I will try.
Buttons are cheep but it still works and won't give more GB than origanal HD thus only 4stars.
