Comments about Microboards CopyWriter Pro Blu-ray 1:1 Standalone/USB 2.0 Duplicator:

We are just beginning to offer Blu-ray videos for sale, and being able to duplicate a 2-hour video in less than 20 minutes - without involving the computer or tying up Final Cut - is a real plus. I use the CopyWriter as a stand-alone, since my computer is a Mac.

The device has worked well and was easy to set up. It has done regular DVDs as well as Blu-rays (about 8 minutes for the 2-hour DVD), both with no loss of quality that I can see.

I'd recommend this product to anyone beginning to sell Blu-ray discs, since it is not prohibitively expensive for a start-up, and would probably be all you needed for quite a while.

The only quibbles are that the instructions look like fourth-generation photocopies and the light-gray area at the top, with the Microboards logo, looks like a rectangular sheet of paper just glued on to the device. In other words, a little cheesy. But so far it seems to work really well.

I haven't used a DVD-RW or BD-RE in the device yet. They are used for rough cuts and edit copies, and thus don't get duplicated.
