The 202mkV from TASCAM is a professional dual cassette player and recorder with a wealth of features in a simple 3RU rack space unit. Using standard line-level stereo RCA connectors for input and output signals, the unit also has a front-panel 1/4" mic input jack with its own level control. Standard functions, such as play, pause, stop, forward, and rewind are all controlled by buttons on the front panel.
Advanced features of the 202mkV include auto reverse on each deck, ±12% pitch control on deck 1, Dolby B noise reduction, and automatic play and record at power-up. Continuous recording is offered, so when the tape in well 1 runs out, tape 2 kicks in without missing a beat. Each deck has a record function, allowing you to create 2 masters simultaneously. Dubbing can be done at normal and high speeds. The unit also offers A-B repeat and Return to zero functions.

Comments about Tascam 202mkV Rackmount Dual Cassette Recorder/Player:
this machine plays my tapes which recorded 10 years ago very well. it recalls my childhood happy memory.
no matter plays type I or type II tapes, it will never down you.
the one and ONLY flaw is that it must connect an amplifier or a phone with output controller to control the volume. because it's a professional gear.

Comments about Tascam 202mkV Rackmount Dual Cassette Recorder/Player:
I've bought that model as a replacement: after nine years my Pioneer 606 quietly passed away. I do a lot of recordings and my first impression is that Tascam is absolutely up to it's task: works like a charm. I would highly recommend that machine to everybody - it's worth every penny.

Comments about Tascam 202mkV Rackmount Dual Cassette Recorder/Player:
I use the cassette recorder to record my vinyl collection to tape, and it sounds beautiful. It is very easy to use, and has some very solid features. No complaints at all. A very beautiful piece, I can see for many uses (recording instruments to tape from a mixer etc., recording radio shows, making copies of tapes, looking nice in a rack.[...]No complaints at all. Very pleased.

Comments about Tascam 202mkV Rackmount Dual Cassette Recorder/Player:
This product is used, continuously, on a daily basis to create copies of audio recordings for court proceedings. It successfully eliminates background noises and feedbacks, so that the recordings are clear. Great sound quality. It accomodates a mixer, a microphone, speakers, and a PC, and more plug-ins, if needed. The overall operation is quiet and smooth, and the displays are easy to read. Does not need a professional to set this up. The black outer finish gives a sleek professional look. One slight drawback, is that the keys are hard to push. You have to press more than once.

I still like to tape music from Satellite radio/ live broadcasts. My Tascam 202 MKIII finally wore out and I was happy to replace it with the 202-MKV. This deck also has pitch control for the left side well for old tapes that might be off-speed... Great price [...]

Comments about Tascam 202mkV Rackmount Dual Cassette Recorder/Player:
I use this to listen to and transfer tapes to CD's as well as recording from Vinyl records.I like that it has a headphone jack, and that both A/B record. I wish Teac/Tascam would make something silver faced like the old 1970's Decks. Black really makes it hard to read the words near the buttons.I'm glad the rack mounts are removable. A little pricey but well worth it.
