The PENTAX Imaging Company 2-Year USA Only Extended Warranty warrants to the original purchaser the product to operate according to factory specifications for a period of three years from the original date of purchase (one-year standard + two-year extended) PENTAX will provide, at no charge, one complete check-up at any time during the warranty period. This includes inspection of all camera functions to see that they meet factory specifications.

Purchased extended 2 year Pentax warranty to provide peace of mind for the investment made in the K7. Could not beat the price to get three total years worth of coverage and one free checkup to be provided within the three years. Only con is having to send the camera off to a service center for repair if needed.

I am not sure why you would not purchase this with the camera. The only problem is you have to look for it as it is not listed as one of the things to buy with the camera.

I purchased this with a new dslr, and think it's well worth the price. The coverage seems reasonable, and it was a bit of an investment so I thought I should get this just in case...

This has got to be the camera with best all-around package - its got pro functions, second to none build, but all in a compact yet ergonomic body.
It gets even sweeter when you attach Pentax's excellent primes! Stick a DA40 on it and you have a very compact and unobtrusive setup - not much bigger than a Canon G10/11 or the M3/4 cameras.
The extended warranty for $20 is a deal that was too hard for me to resist. With added confidence of another 2 years, you spend less time worrying about your gear and more time going out and shooting.
I'm not really technical so I won't even attempt to get into details here. As far as I'm concerned, its a joy to shoot with the K-7. Haven't gotten used to all its functions yet but so far so good!

I don't usually go for extended warrenties but this one was only [@] and included a checkup and adjustment for the camera. Hope that I only need to use it for the checkup but will have it just in case. [$] for peace of mind, good buy.
