The CineMate Series II from Bose is an easy-to-use 2.1 digital home theater speaker system designed to bring out the full audio potential of your TV and video sources. The system consists of the Bose Acoustimass module and a pair of articulated array speakers. The Acoustimass module provides deep low frequency sounds. It can be easily hidden in a corner or out of view, yet the sound seems to magically come from the speakers. The speakers provide a full frequency range for realistic audio that puts you right in the middle of your favorite movies, games, and music.
The system is equipped with Bose's proprietary TrueSpace technology, which delivers a spacious, multichannel sound experience with strong center imaging without the complication of additional speakers and wires. The system also includes a sleek 4-button wireless remote to control the system.

I have a small-ish living room and needed a boost in sound quality from my LCD that could "Shake the Walls" but still have a small footprint. This worked perfectly. It's elegant, stylish, easy to set up and crystal clear.
I have one con if I may. This unit is meant to connect to the LCD and that alone. If you have any other devices you might like to go through the Bose System(AM-FM radio, iPod, etc)it will have to pass through the LCD first and that's a challenge.

The unit has its own amplifier which is contained in the acoustimass unit (subwoofer). The acoustimass unit can be placed anywhere in the room. The unit contains a remote control and its sensor is very small and can be placed under the TV along with the small high quality speakers. The sound this unit produces is amazing.

The sound is excellent, there is good clarity on voices during movies and documentaries, the speakers are small and easy to place anywhere. The woofer is a bit dificult to hide because it is not wireless so you have to keep it close, unless you run wires around, but you get use to it and won't notice it after awhile. The set up is easy and gives you an opportunity to hook up any other red and white wires for any equipment that may not work hooked to the TV or the other pieces you may have. The sound fills my living room and I don't miss speakers behind me. The bass is very good. If you are looking for bombastic bass sound effect, you will not find it here, but your normal bass is well displayed. I was able to program the CineMate Series II into my Logitec remote along with the TV, cable, DVD, VHS and CD player. B&H delivered what they promissed.

I placed an order for this Cinemate II speakers on the last day of Bose promotion, and I received this simplied home theater last week with a free pair of UFS-20 through this purchase from BH Photovideo. Again thanks BH for giving its customers the free pair of Bose stands with the purchase of this Bose system. The installation upon unpacking the box was quite simple! It only took me 30 minutes to completely set it up! It was up and running after then.This home system is amazing as the bass is really rich and the sound is super clear! I watched a couple movies as just another way to test the sound quality of this system! So far, it has exceeded my expectation!!! I also watched some DVD music in Beegees Live Concert in 1997 @ Las Vegas, and the sound was completely amazing as I felt as if I was in the live concert. I just love this system so much! Before I decided to buy this system, I had also tested this Cinemate II & Cinemate Series II GS at a local Bose store. To be honest, I cannot really tell how different between these systems are as the other one costs $[*]. I got this system during the Bose promotion. with free Bose stands! How cool! Again, thank you, BH Photovideo, for this generous offer to its customer! That is the main reason why I always look for BH at the first place when buying electronic / camera devices! In in all, I do not need to speak much about this product as Bose always presents its products at the highest quality. The price seems a little costly to somebody, but if we want the best / high quality products in Bose, money is no longer our issue!!! Definite recommendation!!!

Very good cost/benefit relation equipment! I have interfaced it to my LED TV with the supplied digital optical cable. The sound is magnificent. Bass is great. Clear and powerful sound in a large frequency range. I did not miss the surround speakers. Ideal for apartments and smaller rooms. Bose rocks!
