If you're not a whiz with FCP, this should help get you up to speed and jog your memory. While it doesn't contain as much info as a full size keyboard cover, it does the trick - and the silicon is kinda fun. Enjoy. I haven't figured out the best way to store it when not using except to leave it in place on the keyboard.

It does serve the basic purpose of helping to learn the shortcuts. However, it is somewhat useless since it says right on the package (in the tiniest print imaginable) that you should not leave it on the keyboard when your computer is closed and in sleep mode. Basically you have to put it on and remove it each time you use it. It's more of a rubbery overlay. I was under the impression this would be something I could leave on the keyboard all the time (I do a lot of editing) and would also double as a keyboard protector against dust, etc. NOT the case. Kind of a rip off for [$]. Might as well just write the shortcuts down and memorize them, save yourself the money. If you are going to be doing your editing sitting at a desk, then just get an external keyboard that has the shortcuts on the keys already. If you do more editing on the go or not at a desk, then you might want this. That being said, 90% of my editing is not done at a desk and I still don't want this. Also, it really doesn't fit as snugly as I thought it would.

I keep it on my mac book all the time so it works as a protective cover for my keys too. It really does come in handy for editing. I'm still trying out the shortcuts and its helping me learn more about final cut along the way. It was awesome I could find this for Final Cut 7 on this site. They didn't have any on @. Just make sure you clean it before you put it on your mac. Mine was kind of dusty.

I always use these keyboard covers. LogicKeyboard covers have a great fit and don't interfere with the operation of the keys.
They protect from spills and dirt under the keys. Cheap insurance. Plus, the Final Cut shortcuts are a big help for those of use who are not power users

[...] I have been using the LogicSkin apple final cut pro keyboard cover for almost a month now, and I must say it's amazing. How much faster I work through the short cut keys now. LogicSkin cut editing time by almost half the time. For me remembering all the short cuts wasn't easy as soon as i threw this cover over my MacBook pro that was it. It took about an hour of playing with it and from there every thing was easy. With all the short cut keys being organized and colored coded it was simple to remember. And production time was wayyyyyy faster. And for me time is money I run a post production company for local and International media. As to the durability its rubbery feel makes it easier to type and very sturdy material. I was skeptical at first because I read lots of negative reviews online over things like not durable some people state that you couldn't close the laptop that the LogicSkin had to be removed before closing most defiantly not true. My MacBook uni body 2011 closes perfectly with it on. I would defiantly recommend this to anybody that wants to work faster in final cut. Overall very happy and pleased.

Even if your not an FCP editor, using one of these keyboard skins can seriously save your mac (when the kids spill a bottle of water over the open laptop!)
