I am so glad that I returned the Universal Mount I had previously bought and purchased this one. It was easy to install and attach to my projector. WHen the bulb needs to be replaced, the unit slides out of the ceiling mount. There are two adjustment knobs which make it really easy to get the picture angle just right. I would definitely buy this again. Worth the extra money versus cheaper universal mounts.

Don't know why Optoma changed their mount. Last one was flexible and easy to use. This mount has no azimuth stage other than loosening/tightening screws that are extremely difficult to reach after mounting the projector, and then is impossible to keep still while tightening. Definitely over designed to address already solved problems while severely lacking in basic adjustment requirements. Not thought out very well at all. Very disappointed.

Well engineered,solid, ceiling mount with good instructions for mounting a wide variety of Optoma projectors. Much better than the less expensive ceiling mounts that make are too flimsy/flexible to accurately align a projector, and don't have effective mechanisms for making fine adjustments. Also the mount makes it easy to remove the projector if any servicing is required. The low profile mount allows the projector to be mounted close to the ceiling, allowing for a smaller screen offset from the ceiling which is needed with larger screens in rooms with normal ceiling heights. After trying a cheap ceiling mount, this is one place where spending extra money is worth the expense.

Used it to mount an hd-66 I also bought from B&H. Really happy with the projector, and I first bought a universal mount from [@] that didn't fit it! Went back to get this optoma brand mount, which fit exactly to the projector, but when fastening to the ceiling, i realized they forgot to add a swivel feature. The Tilt/Roll take care of two axis adjustments, but the swivel is built in to the curved mounting bracket holes. the only problem with this design is that the threads of the screw themselves are as wide as the holes, and when you tighten it, it adjusts the swivel... and you have to insert and power on the projector to see the minuscule difference made by tightening it! this means you have to mount it, put in the projector, see your mistake, take out your projector, adjust the swivel, and hope that when you tighten it, it doesn't undo the adjustments you've made.

This is a perfect projector for those who want to mount close to the ceiling ... took me about 2 hrs to get it completely installed with projector mounted, but it looks great and functions perfectly. The two adjustors to move the projector up and down or left and right - along with the zoom control - allow you to project the image exactly where you want it to be.
Make sure to read the projector instructions so that you place the ceiling mount at the appropriate place for the image size you desire . Strong recommendation!!

I'm using the mount for a GT 700 Optima. Works great, made of CNC Machined all metal parts so the precision for a home theater system is nice. Easy to mount in 5 minutes with a hand held drill and screwdriver, it is very universal with the optional parts included so I see nothing wrong with it. I'm a Combat Motion Picture Photographer in the Marines in Iraq right now and with little access to tools it works great.
