The VH236H 23" Widescreen Monitor from ASUS is a monitor focused both on beautiful, clear images and on comfort. The ergonomic design includes high-degree viewing angles, 25° of tilt and a small desktop footprint. It's actually my second Asus monitor in a year.
Pros:
It has a 2ms response time which is great for gaming and spectacular color. If you put two monitors together, you will definitely see the difference in picture quality. The monitor also includes a decent built-in speakers, which could potentially save you a bunch of desk space as well as less cables in the back, and you can always hook up your own stereo system if you want. Some people complains about its adjustability, but to me, it's really not that bad considering most LCD monitors are not so adjustable.
Cons:
I think Samsung offers better picture quality on some of their models, but you don't get 2ms GTG response time and build-in speakers. Plus, Samsung will cost you much more.
Overall:
This Asus monitor is a must-buy if you are looking for a great monitor at this price range. B&H offers the best deal you can't find elsewhere!

I was a little worried when deciding to get this because I wanted a good gaming monitor but when I got it its the best decision I ever made in my gaming career. This monitor is awesome super clear and is the perfect size that I wanted. The speakers aren't the best but I plugged in some computer speakers to it so its fine and at certain times I find myself wanting a remote for the menu and volume sometimes but other than that its amazing and I totally recommend this product.

I have this monitor attached via HDMI to my laptop. I rated this monitor 5 stars not because its the best in the world but because its worth 5 stars for what I paid for it. The speakers that are included work just fine and sound better and louder than my weak laptop speakers. If you want something louder than buy a 2.1 system but for me the attached speakers are fine and I don't usually need to have the volume set at more than 70%.
The picture is very bright and clear and even in "Theater" mode which is the mode I prefer. Great for watching HD video or even a movie. I even turned the brightness down to just over half since it was so bright. I typically just watch Youtube videos and the occasional tv show and both look great on this monitor. I don't game on it but I can see that it would be fantastic for gamers.
The physical buttons on the monitor for brightness, volume etc could definitely have been set up better. They are not very intuitive but I programmed my wireless mouse to adjust volume and all the other settings are just a one time adjustment so I don't need to keep messing with them.
Keep in mind that you won't have a built in webcam or microphone so if that's important you may have to spend a lot more for another monitor but for me that was not an issue as I can detach my laptop if I need to use the built in webcam. I'm very happy with my Asus monitor and my only regret is not buying one sooner. Looking at my 15 inch laptop screen is horrible after using this monitor even though I have a powerful laptop with 720p HD screen.

Monitor is HDMI ready, has a fast response time, and good graphics. Monitor ;acks the ability to adjust up or down but is a small minor flaw. The performance makes up for this small minor flaw. Would recommend to any gamers due to quick response time. Well worth the money. Excellent deal!

Just received this today. Setup was easy, colors are good, brightness is excellent. I bought this from B&H because they had the lowest price. I use it for gaming exclusively and it is amazing. The 2ms response time is so good, it really can give you an edge. I went to EVO 2012(the worlds biggest fighting game tournament) and this is the monitor they use. Only thing that isn't awesome is the button placement and the volume. It's cool cause I use a gaming headset.

I picked up this monitor for gaming purposes on consoles because the 2ms response time is a must for any competitive gamer.
Since it has 3 input ports it doubles as a secondary monitor for my PC.

Product arrived quickly and well packaged. I've purchased from B&H before and have not had any problems.
With regard to the monitor itself, it did not have any dead pixel. The construction appeared to be solid, and the display was vibrant and crisp right out of the box.
I do a bit of photo editing, making home video, and watching movies on this monitor. And with the current price I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

This monitor met my criteria. I like all my equipment to have a newer feature, HDMI for example. I also want it to connect to older devices, thus the need for VGA. I liked that the monitor had built-in speakers. They are not the greatest, but will do for backup. I like the audio-out port for headphones. I like the various display presets that can be switched with a dedicated button.
