I like the fact that it has a rechargeable battery. It charges ipod when AC adapter is in, otherwise doesn't.

I am left to think I got a bad unit. At any volume above a whisper, the treble is very crackly, and there is no mid-range or bass (although I did not expect big booming sound). and the high pitched crackling is just downright painful to listen to. Based on the majority of the other good reviews here, I believe that this is a good set of speakers, and I just got a bad unit.
Thanks to B&H's excellent return service, sending the unit back and will pay a little extra money for some speakers that are a bit more substantial.

We purchased this as a gift for our parents. They had lots of old albums that we converted to digital, loaded onto an iPod for them and needed a compact but good way to listen to them. This unit was perfect - small with a good sound. It is a bit shallow when on battery, but they will keep it plugged in and it charges the iPod as well.
Easy to setup, use and sounds good, and buying it from B&H was as painless as ever!

Ideal portable speakers for ipods, as they both function on inbuilt rechargable batteries and power cable. Batteries are delivered with the product and are rechargable many times, as compared to the JBL speakers for example. So far, it has been a great product. Of course the sound quality is not comparable to for instance Bose speakers.
