Comments about Marshall Electronics Battery Plate:
If you own a Marshall M-CT7 monitor (or other Marshall monitors) as I do, the battery that it is set up for, the Canon LP-E6, just doesn't have the power to run the monitor for more than 1.5 to 2 hours. I needed a longer lasting battery when I am on a sports shoot with no AC power around. The Panasonic VW-VBG6 is the battery I use on the AG-HMC150 cameras and it powers them for up to three hours, so I figured it should work on the monitor as well. Marshall's website says it will. The complete Marshall battery plate for the Panasonic battery can be purchased from B&H but if you're handy with a soldering gun, save yourself some money, buy this plate and you'll be able to use the higher capacity battery. The monitor will be a lot heavier with the bigger battery, but assuming you're on sticks, it shouldn't matter. The first weekend I used the Panasonic battery I got a more than four hours of use from the monitor. The whole event was over in six hours so only one battery change was needed. Big plus!Marshall makes plates for other batteries as well, and B&H carries most of them. Check out Marshall's website then order the plate from B&H.
