The first few times I examined this, I was very skeptical & didn't quite believe this could actually be comfortable or worthwhile but badly needed a strap or case.

I have to say, I'm very pleased with it's design & comfort for my Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod. The head, being the heavier end actually rests downward toward your side while the tripod legs point-upward behind your back - quite comfortably I must add.

Also, the adjustable upper quick-release clip tapers nicely around the legs while the lower clip snaps right into the tripods built-in latch - sounds quirky but I appreciate the small details.

If you need to free your hands and have quick access to your tripod, then don't hesitate for this price - just go for it.

I got the Manfrotto tripod strap to help lug around a moderately heavy tripod (055XPRO/804RC2) with Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm scope. I've hoisted older scopes/tripods (not mine) onto my shoulder and wanted to avoid that approach.

In the end, the scope/tripod/head combination was just too off balance to work. If I carried the combo scope/head first, I had to constantly hold them up to prevent them from hitting the ground. This meant that the shoulder strap was not fitting tightly and kept flopping off. If I carried the combo feet first, I had to constantly press down on the legs to keep the head from dragging on the ground.

I finally tried hoisting the stuff onto my shoulder and it worked much better -- though I will be getting some kind of padding to help.

Comments about Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap:

A tripod strap is a must when one is hiking long distances. The MSTRAP-1 is a perfect addition for my Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 carbon fiber tripod. It goes without saying that the more comfortable it is to carry one's equipment, the more pleasant an outdoor excursion will be.

The MSTRAP-1 is very well made and easily attaches to the tripod with a clip on the upper end and a snap buckle on the other end. And, to better ensure a good fit, the buckle end strap has velcro to eliminate loose strap ends. The shoulder strap itself is wide and padded, which can be repositioned down or up the main strap for a most comfortable carry of the tripod.

I can whole hearted recommend this product.

Comments about Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap:

I have a 055 tripod for about 13-14 years and I have worn two straps which were different than this one. The old one had rubber on its surface so that it didnt slip on my shoulder, but after a couple of years the rubber started to come off and the strap was slipping on my shoulder all the time. And the old one was very simply but greatly fastened at the bottom of the tripod. Now this new strap doesn't have rubber on its surface and the strap is slipping on my shoulder and I can't keep it on my back any way I want it. On the other hand somehow it works OK, generally I don't feel worse to carry it.
The lower end of the strap cannot be fastened (or at least it is too tight) at the same point as with the old strap, at the bottom of the leg, but at the upper third of the leg. It is partly better, because your hands don't get dirty as you touch the bottom of the leg.
This solution is probably more durable as the old one.

Comments about Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap:

This strap is extremely short and is of use only if you want to hand-carry your tripod a short distance. If you're looking for a shoulder strap, check out the Op/Tech and Oben straps; Manfrotto has tripod cases with shoulder straps too.

The rubber grip provides a good hand-hold and the strap can be adjusted to balance the tripod. It's not a "bad" strap, it's just not meant to hook onto the tripod, sling the strap over your shoulders, and take a long schlep.

This strap is exactly what I was looking for. I tried a few different options like bags and such, but it took too much time to get the tripod out and set up. This strap makes it much faster. The only issue I have is that with a heavy head on the tripod, the weight feels off. It makes the tripod fall in a little uncomfortable stop on my shoulder.

Comments about Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap:

The reason that I did not give this strap 5 stars is that the shoulder pad, like most of the shoulder pads out there is just moderately "grippy".

I ended up using an old camera bag strap with a very RUBBERIZED, CONTOURED shoulder pad, which stays on my shoulder better.

I used 2 velcro cable wraps with 1" O-rings to make the adapter pieces to wrap around the leg and neck of the tripod. I wish this old camera bag strap had a label on it. I would buy a few of them.

There is a demand, I believe, for camera straps with wide but flat, contoured, very rubberized shoulder pads.

Just purchased this and installed it. No instructions but when I placed my tripod on my shoulder, I was amazed at how well it felt walking around. The balance was excellent. I connected it directly around the bottom of the head.

When I want to travel light with just a few lenses in a small bag the tripod strap works great to keep my hands free while hiking. Simple design that does just what it needs to do and can quickly be released to set up the tripod. Price seems a little much for the simple strap but I am happy with the purchase.

This shoulder strap is the perfect hands-free way to carry/transport my tripod! I've been using a tripod bag, but have found it to be too cumbersome. This attaches and removes easily and stores in a pocket on my camera bag when the tripod is in use.

Comments about Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap:

The price on this product is reasonable considering the excellent built quality and the great design. actually the tripod will be upside down when carried with this strap. The manfrotto tripod designed with a hook to connect this strap. I still purchsed a Manfrotto tripod bag because I feel that the head is very delicate device. I would like to protect it with a bag. For convenience and short distance travel with no concern of banging the head. Shoulder strap is the way to go.

This product will help simplify the transporting of all my camera paraphenalia. The strap, when hooked up properly, keeps the tripod on my back and out of the way.
