Comments about Samson UM1 Portable Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

The microphone cable is very thin and pretty difficult to get into the "Tie" clip.
I was scared it was going to rip-appart ...!
I tested the audio quality and it definitely sounds sub quality.

LED's rather confusing as you are not sure that the unit is actually "ON"
The battery terminals on the receiver compartment is market "+/-" but there is no markings on the receivers battery compartment...???

Inside the instruction manual there is a bold WARNING that the battery must not be inserted backwards ???

Comments about Samson UM1 Portable Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

I use my wireless mic setup for filming hunts. It works pretty well. I keep extra 9V batteries with me at all times because I've heard they chew up batteries fairly quickly but don't know for sure yet. The mic works really well and was a great addition to my hunting films. The value of great audio is priceless. I wish I would've bought these when I bought my whole camera setup.

Comments about Samson UM1 Portable Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

I used this product to follow around subjects in a reality TV style production.
I ordered 2 of these systems, the UM1 and UM2.
Both worked reasonably well, but did have some issues.
One system would give me a constant hum and could be seen at high levels on my H4N, while the other worked perfectly.
I have not had a chance to really run any tests, but I have a feeling its the microphone thats the problem.
Really easy to use and worked like I hoped.

Comments about Samson UM1 Portable Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

I am first time owner of a wireless microphone and am impressed how well it works. Requires some tuning of gain, factory preset is far from optimal.

It is velcroed to my H4N1 which is mounted on the hot shoe of my EOS 7D via marshall ball mount. Be sure to carry spare 9V batteries
