The Canon EOS 7D boasts the latest high performance photo and video imaging capabilities for professionals and discerning image makers alike. An 18 megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor coupled with Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors enables fast, 8 frames per second shooting and expanded ISO 100-12800 sensitivity without compromising quality. True 1080p HD video can be recorded at either 24 or 30 frames per second for a smooth, cinematic effect. 720p and SD video are captured at either 50 or 60 frames per second, offering a superior method to capture motion. An integrated mono microphone records spontaneous audio with video, while a 3.5mm stereo input offers higher quality options for professional applications.

The 7D's all new, all cross-type, 19 point autofocus system features 5 user-selectable focusing modes. All focus points can be selected automatically or manually and programmed for priority based on the portrait or landscape orientation of the camera. Canon's latest iFCL (Intelligent Focus Color Luminosity) Metering System utilizes all 19 AF points, 63 zones, and a dual layer color sensor to analyze shooting conditions and optimize exposure.

Large and bright, the EOS 7D's Intelligent Viewfinder offers 100% viewing of the total image area and features a transparent LCD overlay to show user-selected AF points/modes, a spot metering circle, and on-demand grid lines. In addition to the optical viewfinder, Live View mode allows users to compose photos and video on the 3.0", 920,000-dot rear LCD screen. A new Dual Axis Electronic Level provides a reference to adjust the roll and pitch of the camera in 1° increments using the viewfinder or LCD.

Additional features include environmentally sealed magnesium-alloy construction, an integrated sensor cleaning system, 150,000 exposure shutter rating, and wireless TTL control of Canon EX-series Speedlite Flashes. With all this and more, the Canon EOS 7D represents the next generation of professional EOS photo and video imaging.

This kit includes the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens.

18.0 Megapixel CMOS Sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors
The EOS 7D features a Canon-designed 18.0 Megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor that captures such a high level of resolution it's easy to crop images for enlargement without concern of losing detail. A major factor in reducing noise, the CMOS sensor assures that images shot at highest sensitivity will be remarkably smooth. Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors ensure that images are captured, processed and saved with remarkable speed. The EOS 7D's ability to capture and process data of images shot at 18.0 Megapixels at 8 fps, as well as Face Detection Live Mode, Full HD video recording, Auto Lighting Optimizer and Lens Peripheral optimization are all possible thanks to the Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors.
ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12800)
With a broad range of ISO settings, the EOS 7D enables shooting from dawn through dusk and ensures capture of the finest detail. With enhanced, low-noise high-sensitivity optimization, shooting in situations previously possible only with flash are easier than ever before.
Advanced Movie Mode with Manual Exposure Control and Selectable Frame Rates
The EOS 7D offers the enhanced image quality, smooth frame rates and adaptive exposure compensation necessary in a professional movie-making tool. By shooting video with a large sensor camera, it's simple to take advantage of the image characteristics intrinsic to SLR photography and not necessarily to video cameras.

In addition to a number of different recording size and frame rate modes, the EOS 7D enables easy manual control of exposure, focus and Live View features and even allows for in-camera editing. The large CMOS sensor and compatibility with over 60 lenses provide a wealth of depth-of-field options. And it's all as easy as the press of a button - the EOS 7D has a dedicated Live View/Movie Recording lever with a start/stop button that gets the shooting started fast.

Full HD Video is captured at 1920 x 1080 resolution at 30p (29.97), 24p (23.976) or 25p frames per second, for up to 4GB per clip. Movies are saved as .MOV files and can be viewed in Full HD with HDMI output. Other recording sizes include HD at 1280 x 720 (50p / 60p (59.94) fps) or SD/VGA at 640 x 480 (50p / 60p (59.94) fps).

Intelligent Viewfinder
The EOS 7D features a phenomenal redesigned viewfinder that not only offers 100 percent coverage, 1x magnification, a 29.4° angle of view and user-controlled dioptric adjustment, it also features a newly-designed transparent LCD display which enables a number of viewfinder displays to be overlaid at the touch of a button. Whereas with other cameras the representation of AF points and metering areas are static, with the EOS 7D, they can be displayed, adjusted and hidden, in camera, with ease. This means less distraction and more clarity to view the image in its entirety.

Display options include: grid, spot metering, AF points display, hide all, zone AF, spot (single-point) AF, AF point expansion and Dual Axis Electronic Level display. The EOS 7D also features a brilliant new Dual Axis Electronic Level and tilt display that aids in achieving perfectly level shots, displaying both roll and pitch in 1° increments, either in the viewfinder or on the LCD.

New 19-Point, All Cross-Type AF System
Canon packed its most advanced technologies into the EOS 7D's AF system. With 19 high precision, cross-type AF sensors, any of which can be selected automatically or manually, the EOS 7D is equipped to handle even the trickiest of focus situations with ease. The high-speed microcomputers in the EOS 7D use advanced algorithms that help ensure the fastest, most accurate AF performance under the widest variety of conditions.

In addition, Canon's Light Source detection AF automatically compensates the focus by taking into account artificial lighting sources and making appropriate adjustments and the EOS 7D's new Intelligent Macro focusing tracks the object or the cameras movement when shooting close-up, to ensure focus is never lost. AF modes can be customized to suit the situation, ensuring reliable focus, every time.

iFCL Metering with 63-Zone Dual-Layer Metering Sensor
The EOS 7D features a new, 63-zone dual-layer sensor designed to complement the 19-point AF system. By taking into account the color and luminosity surrounding chosen AF points, this new system delivers an entirely new level of accuracy for better results even in difficult lighting situations.

Since the metering sensor has a color measurement function, exposure errors and focus errors caused by different light sources are minimized; the EOS 7D gives stable exposure from shot to shot in situations where light changes, such as in a theater or concert hall. This makes the EOS 7D ideal for scenes with extreme difference in brightness such as brightly lit scenes or backlit scenes; the camera balances exposure of the main subject at the background, and exposures are not overly influenced by bright areas in the shot.

Rugged, Durable, Dust and Weather Resistant Construction
The EOS 7D is constructed of the highest quality materials, to exacting standards to ensure unfettered performance at all times. For example, the shutter can shoot at speeds up to 1/8000 sec for 150,000 cycles; the chassis is built of lightweight and rigid magnesium, and the camera's seals are built to resist water and dust.

The image quality of this camera is awesome. I have photographed things with an ISO of 1600 and the clarity is awesome with very minimal grain detectable. The speed of the continuous focus is stellar and playing around with its video capabilities has definately made me more interested in seeing what I can produce via film. I normally shoot with all Nikon products, however I am now happy to own both Nikon and Canon equipment.

I just purchased this camera to shoot for my work as a web blogger and as supplementary to my 4x5 camera, which is my main piece of equipment. While the quality is not as good as a Mark II or 4x5, it is a decent piece of equipment for the money. The camera is fast and sharp and good in low light. This kit lens is suitable for detail shots and portrait work---if you are shooting architecture you might want to purchase additional lenses.

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

I have a 5D MkIII and was looking for a backup camera to replace my 60D. 7D is currently the best value for your money. Despite of being a 2009 model it's a robust camera with superb build quality (magnesium alloy body, dust and weather resistant), AF system that still beats recent models, 100% view finder coverage and 8 fps speed. A pro spec camera at an accessible price that still remains as the flagship APS-C DSLR. Make no mistake, if you are looking for a reliable camera for photography, this old faithful will not let you down.

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

This is my upgrade camera from a Rebel T1i, and boy what a difference! The functions are set up intuitively and were fairly easy for me to get used to. The upgraded processor really does make for higher quality shots, although I'll give my Rebel it's due as I've taken lots of good shots with it as well. I appreciate the 7D's heftier feel and ability to tolerate moisture. I'm pleased with this camera. I am impressed with the battery life; I took 1,125 pictures (JPEG only)over one week and still had some juice left in the original charge.

I traded this in from my T2i. Initially a little hesitant because there are so many new cameras with more megapixels. But, the build quality on this camera is so evident that I am so glad I upgraded. The camera is much better with low light conditions and the shutter speed is just amazing.

I decided to upgrade from my Rebel XSi to something more advanced without breaking the bank. I liked the better ISO choices and the 19 af points. The 8 fps burst is great. I like the solid feel and the grip is sweet. Its a lot heavier than the Rebel but I dont mind. The only con i can think of is the use of a CF card. SD cards are what my laptop card reader accepts. One thing these Canon kits could include is a lens hood.
That said, the images are great and I have no regrets about this purchase.

Make no mistake about this. To some this is a mid camera from pro to amature. I would say it is in the more pro line. Very versital and packed with options. A great Camera from Canon. The video is good too. Just make sure you have a Bluray burner to make those Blurays or you can use DVD to write. Either way you can't go wrong. Kust make sure you have at least 64 gigs of flash memor for the video.

My 7d was a gift from my husband, and an upgrade from my xsi. I've had it for about 4 months and LOVE it. The functions are more intuitive than the xsi, and the build is completely solid. I honestly can't think of anything that I don't like about this camera. The 28-135mm lens has been a great street lens, great focusing, no problems.

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

I only just got it a week ago, and went to the metro park twice. From what I can tell so far, I would not recommend having the ISO setting on auto. The stills I took had a little more grain than I would like and some green/magenta fringe on some. When I looked back through the data at home I discovered that I could have engaged a much lower shutter speed on a lower ISO and not lose detail. I only had it on this setting because I more so trying to experience the video capability of this camera. Now I am not a videographer, so I'll need lots of practice to master this. The 28-135mm lens that came with it is a real prize! I love how this one lens can be so versatile for many situations.

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

I like bird photography and upgraded from a Sony A65 with 70G400mm to this camera with the 400mm 5.6L USM lens. I had difficulty getting reliably good focus and saw that all the pro's were using Cannon.

I found that my keepers jumped up a notch almost immediately. This set up seems to focus faster and more accurately. I find it very helpful that I can quickly move the spot focus point to the upper region which allows me to shoot without the focus move and then shoot. Very helpful on a tripod.

Also, the view finder is bright and large enough to shoot with my glasses on. For some reason, I always need to remove my glasses to shoot with the Sony.

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

I have been researching cameras for over a year now and finally took the leap in buying this one. I love the size of it and how user friendly it is. I know that there are many features that I am still not familiar with, but I appreciate the fact that I was able to charge the battery, insert the memory card, and begin shooting before really reading the entire manual. As I continue reading the manual and learning about my camera, my love of the camera increases. I have only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far everything is great!!

I use my 7d for shooting surfing and lifestyle shots, the 28-135 lens is really versatile. (I can get close up shots and still be able to shoot a target a couple hundred yards away)
The quality of the video/photos is top notch.
This camera body is what the top pro surf photographers use.

I recently upgraded from the T2i, which I will keep as a backup if I ever need one. This one is heavier and more solidly built but makes up for that with speed and efficiency.

I bought this for my son, hes majoring in film in college. He is the envy of the other students. He loves the way the pictures turn out and the filming has been great!

Comments about Canon EOS 7D SLR Digital Camera with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens:

Purchasing the 7D was a major upgrade as I had been shooting with the 20D for many years! Although there were some changes and additional features, it was pretty intuitive and easy to use right out of the box. The manual was extremely helpful for those few situations that I couldn't figure out on my own, and I have since read the entire thing.

The camera is very fast, especially with my 50mm 1.4. I love the higher ISO range as it allows me to take most picture inside without using the flash. The kit lens is great...I am surprised by how fast and sharp it is! It is a little slower and not as sharp at the end [135mm].

Camera is heavy and with a big lens and speedlight attached it can provide a bit of an arm workout. But I prefer the solid, heavy build so this is not a concern for me!

I am enjoying the video feature as well...this is a completely new adventure for me!
