Amazingly powerful for what it is. Very versatile and a lot of no hassle fun to use. Have you ever used a PA that never had any feedback at all ever no matter how you set it up or what you plugged into it ? This one is the first one I've ever used which almost makes it worth the price to begin with and I actually plugged in an acoustic bass which has got to be the ultimate test! No monitors needed! It also has stereo line out so it makes a great monitor if you wanna patch in to a larger system. I've seen people asking questions about the rated power output. The answer is, on batteries it puts out 20 software enhanced watts stereo 10 watts per side-12 volts X 0.8 amps per side.8 AA's. batteries are limited as to how much current they can produce hence the lower power.I definitely recommend NiMh batteries, by the way. Plugged in it puts out 30 watts, 15 per side still at 12 volts which is what the power amps are designed to run on from the output side of the step down transformer or the batteries. Great tone for moderate volume gigs in smaller spaces, superior projection and coverage used this way. Being an electronics tech I used test eqpt. to verify the output power. I also used a decibel meter with various types of music and verified 109 Db from about 15 feet which is pretty darn loud. I didn't test further out so I don't really know how big an area it would cover, obviously not a huge space but okay for an averaged sized room. Bass of course is adequate but not at all intense. I also own an AC-33 and a mobile cube which are also very cool. This is not the kind of PA that's going to have audience members yelling into the ear of the person right next to them to be heard or shake the floors but they will hear you loud and and more importantly clear.

Through battery use it will initially sound so that you might want to turn it down. With fresh batteries. Alkiline batteries initially last longer before it goes into won't get any louder mode! It sets itself to a certain volume that won't get any louder, and is soft, and very frustrating because you need the sound, and can't get it except that if you change the batteries out completely, and the sound you need will only last for half a song, and then it goes into that stupid soft volume which is practly none..and won't get the loudness you need!!!!! However it will perform at that level which seems to be set with Roland, and the police.....you won't get into any troub le for being too loud that's for sure, and gee you'll make thrice (3) ..three times less money.......but this stupid volume can be available to you making a fool of yourself for 6 long hours.....then suddenly it fades to no this picture says I can't use this....so you'll change the batteries! YOU'LL BE SO HAPPY THEN FOR ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES.....then guess what?!!!!??? :-( back to stupid volume that won't get loud enough....we're talking we don't need much volume here okay?!!!!!!!!!! REDICULIOUS!!!!!!!!!! But hay there's a good side! No really! There is!! On house current like from the wall plug in Duah! The unit blasts just to the needed specifications of a real good solid ..on max... 30 watts.............on battery it pushes 20 watts. I tgried from the initial the strongest duracells "Innercells". Battery saver......well that's the stupid volume Duah "LOOSER" utill it fades away quickly when it does. I've waited through many times using this unit to write this review so as to launch a solid appraisial for all who will read this. [...] I bought it for the battery thing....that's why I bought it! And until I discovered the wonderfull aspect about this unit it did get me by! I changed the batteries a lot. SO WHAT! I got very fed up with this thing! One night I was itting thre stareing at it............I do very much like it :-\ it is small compact perfect wanting to stack two "WOW!" THAT WOULD BE LIKE A MACKIE 1530 THAT RUNS ON BATTERIES!!!! It is fun, and easy to adjust...I wish that there was an individual adjustment on the effects rather than just on, or off, or to the right adjust over all. It is very solidly seems to be constructed well....the coating is thin, cheap, and can bubble like if you put something stuck on, and then want to take it off to change it....remove any stickers etc slowly, very carefully. I really under estimated the 6 1/2 inch speakers.....they do a good job providing ...here's the best news! Stop being un intelligent, and go get yourself a power inverter, and some good deep cycle marine boat batteries.........THEN TURN THIS THING ON! NO MORE POWER FLUXUATIONS! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!! And you have all this unit can provide!!! PLUS!!!!! :-) it now weighs a ton! Oh yeah! It's heavy! But not more than a half a grunt getting it into the car, or on the bus! The things sounds good, and when the police came by, and said turn it down just a tweak..it looked like when I checked out the position of the master volume knob that it looked like it still had almost just a little bit short of half of the full turn that it allows. Which made sense to me that it could get a little intense if it wanted to. Still don't understand the wide function. YOU WON'T ACHIEVE THE POWER POTENTIAL OF THIS THING UNLESS YOU TAKE THE HOUSE WITH YOU!!! Power inverter, and batteries! Plus I played for 8 hours loud as I needed with lots of room to spare on the volume knob. This expensive baby doesn't mud out either unless you're stupid, and use way too much base. This is a professional portable PA System FULLY ARMED BATTLESTAR!! I MADE $155.00 IN LESS THAN THREE HOURS..!! Seemed like minutes! This thing pulled off the show! It tells the truth, and pulls no punches. I play like power bands! Make a lot of cash, and this thing was designed to rage! I strap it on top of a small cooler against a hand truck that also rolls on 4 wheels, but that's the height I use......keep it low to the ground...I know it goes up on a stand....be my guest....yeah go ahead let some fool knock it down with batteries, power inverter etc. Strapped to it or with velcro. .................NOT ME MAN!!!!! [:] [:] you maybe but not me. Besides this thing fills up the streets! The effects are good. Wish I could get delay ,and reverb together, but they're good. Also this thing looks good! This is my review....this is my answer! I would buy it again if I had to. I do recomemd it you....you won't be sorry! Go get a power inverter, and appropriate deep cycle (SEALED) batteries though...you'll never be happier.

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

The BA-330 speaker(s) have lots of virtues: volume, clean sound, portability! But, audio nuances from my connected keyboard are lost, in comparison to those subtle, but necessary tones coming from headphones I am using. The BA-330 sounds like a speaker (which it is) and not like the instrument I'm playing. Tones intended to be acoustic (piano, guitar, strings, etc.) sound overly electronic. This speaker probably would work fine for Rock, synth sounds, but not for Jazz, Standards, orchestral tunes to my liking. The BA-330 does not sound as "authentic" as what's being used in YouTube video clips for keyboard music. Rated the BA-330 4 stars for its size, portability, power, clean, but overly "electronic" audio tone.VM

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

I am a wedding Musician/DJ. I purchased the BA-330 for a ceremony location that was too far away to run power to. It was more than loud enough for my classical guitar and recorded music to be heard by 115 people. I was so happy with it that I bought another one. I always use them for the ceremonies now. (One for me and one for the officiant) It is so quick to pack up that I always make it to my setup at the cocktail hour on time and without looking exhausted. I have also used this unit at several small hall functions and even a pub gig one night. (I have only put acoustic guitar, vocals, and recorded music through it). It has been very reliable for me.

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

Pretty lightweight. Good sound. Definitely more sound from AC power than battery - but you can get pretty good battery sound for a couple hours.
          I'm keeping it.

Kickback feature makes it a decent "side fill" monitor as a second function in a larger PA. Would also make a great keyboard amp IMO.

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

This Pa system is great for my use as a professional musician. I can use Vocals, Guitar, and 'Ukulele, all at the same time with beyond excellent sound quality. The fact that it runs on battery power as well as ac adaptor is awesome and allowed me to take outdoors gigs that require battery power. Battery life is from 8-15 hours depending on what batteries you use and settings. Plenty for a gig. A must buy for solo musicians or 2 person groups. Has a jack for mp3 players as well. and can link additional Ba 330's together for more sound and instruments.

I perform solo acoustic shows, an average of 3 to 4 a week, and thought this would be a good alternative to having to carry a full PA system out to each show. This is a quality sounding PA, and is perfect for smaller venues.

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

Use a pair cascaded together for a super nice setup for our ukulele group. Simple to set up and versatile with AC or battery power. Not too heavy for the over 60 age group to move. Sounds very good and has plenty of controls which are simple for even non geeks.

Comments about Roland BA-330 Portable Stereo PA Amplifier and Speaker System:

Let me be the first to review the BA-330 that was delivered boxed-up nice and secure. I installed 8 used AA batteries (in a well designed solidly built battery compartment) just to see if it had life. To my surprise, it was loud with clean sound coming from the the 6 spkrs (stereo) in the cabinet. Plugged in a couple mics (wireless and a wired hand-held with the 2 XLRs) while music was playing from a mp3 player (stereo 1/8 in plus a rca) and it rocked! This puppy has lots of inputs for guitars and keyboards as well. Very impressed with this unit to say the least! I used this at a wedding ceremony (in Clewiston, FL) for about 70 guests and it carried perfectly without any feedback. Of course, you have to be careful so do your homework first when it comes to positioning the mics and the amp. I will make money on this over a period of time offering audio service for beach and outdoor weddings so go for it if you need something like this for your business. Built very solid with a tray on top to hold transmitters/receivers/iPods/etc./etc./ but no place for a beer can. The pot knobs (tone/effects/volume) are tight with no static. [...]
