Comments about Roland SP-404SX Sampler:
I love this sampler. It's extremely easy to learn how to use and the effects are incredible. The abiltiy to use sd cards for holding samples means you to never have to get rid of anything you don't want to. The 404 doesn't have as many bells and whistles as some of the more expensive samplers but for the price you can't beat it, not to mention those things take longer to learn and can hinder creativity.

Comments about Roland SP-404SX Sampler:
This unit is quickly becoming an industry standard for hip hop and edm production. It's incredibly fast to use, sounds clean (and punchy), and the effects section are worth the pricetag alone. The best sampler on the market for speed and versatility in a portable package.

Comments about Roland SP-404SX Sampler:
I use this product to make homemade samples. That is, I take beats that I played on the drums, or single drum/cymbal hits and assign them to pads. Then I loop the drum beat, or create a pattern out of single hits. Resampling is great on this machine. I take a drum sound, add an effect (distortion sounds so raw, I love it) then resample it to another pad so the effect stays intact.
I then hook up my keyboard to the 404 and record a chord or note to a pad. Do it to all 12 pads and play a melody or ryhthm over the drums. So much fun and it sounds GREAT!
Most people probably use it to sample records or for their DJ set. I plan on sampling records, but for now I'm using it for my own recorded music.
The only thing I have problems with is looping a pattern perfectly. Quantize is their to help, but sometimes it is still a bit difficult... only adds to the excitement...
I love this machine. I only wish I didn't have to go to work so I could make music all day.
Don't wait, buy this product immediately!

I really like this sampler. If it had pressure sensitive pads and midi out and/or thru it would be perfect!

Comments about Roland SP-404SX Sampler:
I use the 404 nearly everyday it is really great. The settings make it really easy to sample pretty much anything, anytime, and with the built in microphone, anywhere. There are a ridiculous amount of really cool sounds so you can always pretty much get what your aiming for.
