The affordable Epson PictureMate Charm Compact Photo Printer delivers only 4 x 6" photos with true-to-life skin tones, amazing detail and sharpness at a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440dpi. It can print a photo in 37 seconds and photos are dry, scratch, and water resistant as soon as they are out of the printer. The PictureMate Charm uses PictureMate Print Packs that include sheets of either matte or glossy paper and ink. The Charm has a 2.5" LCD display and slots to accommodate most popular memory cards. It has a PictBridge interface so you can print directly from a compatible digital camera.
The PictureMate Charm has a built-in carry handle and an optional battery pack is available to enable portability. Plus, the Charm includes Auto Photo Correction, which adjusts the color and exposure of your photos, and there's also red eye correction. The Charm also comes with different layouts and templates, including proof sheets, wallet size, borders, and more to add fun and creativity. This little printer does good work (good enough that I decided to frame and sell some of my nature prints). I was taken aback by the initial lack of quality out of the box with the original (sample) ink cartridge. Once I got a real one in place the prints are really quite amazing.

I needed to produce prints to be taken home after a benefit. I shot, put the media card in the printer and produced 4x6 prints within a minute or so. People were very happy with their pictures. I used the gloss paper and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. The printer performed without failure which helped relieve the pressure of shooting celebrities and donors families. It is important that the printing is supervised though. You can't load the printer with 10 or more sheets and walk away and expect to return to 10 prints. On occasion the paper was pulled through with the sheet beneath resulting in a print spanning 2 sheets. We ended up loading each sheet per print.
I was told to run prints through the printer regularly to keep the ink in the nozzles from drying out. This results in problematic printing quality which may need manufacture intervention to cure.
Operation could not be more simple, just insert media, scroll through your images and push the print button twice to print.
This printer is a lot of fun, produces punchy prints as long as your snap is good. There are no features for cropping or adjustment that I found. There may be but I was too rushed between purchase and shoot to fully get to know the product. I also purchased a warranty to ensure at least two years of trouble free printing. Paper and ink are sold together as a single package and you can choose gloss or luster. Luster is more expensive.

The Epson PM225 PictureMate Photo Printer is a great buy. This compact printer prints excellent 4X6 prints in record time and with very sharp resolution (provided your original digital file has very good resolution, exposure, good color, etc.). However, you can also fix your photos as it allows for some correction - red eye, enhancement, etc. You can also use it with rechargeable lithium batteries (optional) and take it with you to your next shoot. I definitely recommend it.

I had the picturemate pal for some years and loved it! I bought a new camera and the memory stick didnt fit it. I decided to get a new one (the Charm) it doesn't do anything the Pal did, like alot of colorful borders, croping, little pictures you could inlay on your pic, it doesn't do anything more than you can do at a store. I sent it back.

the pictures come out awesome, i bought it for my wife for scrap booking and she loves it. the only thing i would change is that it should come with the usb cable to hook it up to a computer, but other than that we are very satisfied.

The Charm did fine at first, but when it sits for a few months, it needs a whole new (and pricey) toner cartridge. Doesn't seem like a good product for people who like to print every few months.

This printer actually makes really nice prints and is easy to carry around. I use it on photo shoots to give clients prints to take away or just to print out snapshots at home. One complaint that I have is that the initial ink cartridge is only good for about 25 prints, so you HAVE to buy extra paper and ink right away. Factor an extra 40$ into your initial purchase price.

The CHarm does not have the zoom feature that was found on the earlier Picturemate photo lab Snap (gray box). That was the best feature and you've eliminated it! I like the quality of the print, but with no zooming ability the fun is gone!

I have only had this printer for a few days but have printed over 100 photos and am extremely satisfied! The photo quality is as good as if not better than in-store, and not having to leave the house to pick up photos or wait for photos in-store is great. The price per photo is a little cheaper than if I order them in-store, and I save a lot of time not having to email photos to get them ordered elsewhere. It can take upwards of a minute to print a single photo depending on if you use red-eye reduction and other features, but it's well worth it if I can do it anytime, anywhere, even in my pjs. It is easy to use, very portable, and will definitely come in handy during the holidays when I take a family photo and can immediately print several copies for everyone there! I am a parent and consider this a must have for keeping track of growing children! Extremely good quality, especially compared to a different brand printer I used until now. I have already recommended this product to several friends.

Wireless, portable, and great picture quality rivaling lab prints, thus saving me the trip, time, and expense to the local lab. Sure it's not the fastest but what do you expect for the price? I wasn't a big fan of Epson printers but they out-did themselves with this product.

I really love my Epson picturemate photo printer. The ease in which I was able to learn to use it was great. I have been known to be mechanically challenged. And the many surprises I came across as I tried different steps and combination of steps was so much fun! From the borders on each picture,or how small (6) photos on a 4x6 or (1)photo on a 4x6. Or full color to Sepia to black and white. The options are limitless, my only problem seems to be I cannot buy the photo cartridge by itself. Every where I've gone so far I've had to buy the catridge with paper. Right now I have over 150 sheets and no ink. Any Suggestions!!
