Bower's HT55 55mm Tulip Lens Hood is used to block the sun or other light source in order to prevent glare and lens flare. The tulip shape prevents the hood from blocking the field of view of the lens and producing vignetting. Flower shaped lens hoods are most often used on zoom lenses as a normal lens hood may block the field of view on some zoom settings.

Comments about Bower HT55 55mm Tulip Lens Hood:
I use this lens hood on a Canon Vixia HV-40. Works just like it should with a 43mm-55mm Step-Up Ring (Lens to Filter)that I bought from B & H. I have to say it looks good on the HV-40.

Comments about Bower HT55 55mm Tulip Lens Hood:
I recently bought a 35mmm that came with a 55mm zoom lens. It is great for protection and doesn't block too much sun which is great because the lens is old and doesn't take in a ton of light.

The only issue is when zoomed out the lens hood is seen on the corners in the pictures.

Comments about Bower HT55 55mm Tulip Lens Hood:
This is a great hood, very cheap but fantastic, fits well on my Canon 50mm 1.4 :) Blocks the sun and overall gives the look of my camera more profesional. I am only 13 and I love filing on my 60D and also taking photos, and when there is annoying sun in my lens, I just chuck on this easy to screw on lens hood.
