I had my gear all over and wanted one large bag to consolidate everything. I tried the Magnum 400, but it was to small to hold it all. The 650 is just about right, a bit wider, deeper and taller (IF you take out the laptop sleeve.) In the front half (three sections) I've got a Nikon D300 w/battery grip, L bracket and 17-55 f/2.8 attached (lens up). There's a 70-200 f/2.8 in the middle, and a D-200 on the right w/ 18-70 attached. Back sections hold 2 SB-900's, cables, batteries, etc. There's still room in the front and side pockets for chargers, manuals, etc. I was surprised to find that I could not put a body w/ 70-200 attached without it extending past the dividers (into space occupied by laptop sleeve. It appears to be well constructed with beefy material. The bag is deep; works well with large flash, long lenses, but for small items you'll want to get some mesh ditty bags or similar to sort the small stuff. Note that this is NOT a bag to stroll about with while you photograph. I plan to use it as a "master bag" - I'll either transfer what I need to smaller bag(s), or take the 650 and set up a "basecamp" on job sites or my car. I'm not sure how often I'll use the laptop sleeve, but it has a pop-up shade for using outdoors.

Minor complaints: Nice orange zipper pulls inside, but black ones on outside hard to see. The center divider has full velcro on one side, but just 2 strips on the other, which limits the front section divider placement. There are two sets of dividers that appear to have a very specific purpose (vs. the other rectangles) but I couldn't figure out exactly what they were intended for. One appears to be for putting camera in lens down with room to store underneath, but couldn't make it work for me.

Conclusion: if you need a bag this big, don't hesitate.

I currently own a tamrac pro bag that is roughly the same size, yet no rain cover options and a not as much padding as the lowepro. The Lowepro Magnum 650 is decent, but pocket space on the sides and front are a little less functional than the Tamrac I own. THis Magnum is the most expensive camera bag ive ever purchased and feel a little less the 100 %. Strong build, great accessories, etc

This is a fantastic camera bag. It holds so much stuff, and it's very configurable. It's big, but not too bulky. Still easily portable. Lots of padding everywhere. I really can't think of anything bad to say about it.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

I bought this bag for hauling my gear out on day trips. Throw it in the back of the van and go. Holds nearly everything I can think of to bring with me. Two full size DSLRs with battery pack and lenses attached, plus additional lenses and flashes, batteries, cards, etc.... I don't use the laptop sleeve, which gives me a bit more headroom to store longer lenses like the Sigma 150-500. Built like a tank and surprisingly easy to carry for short distances.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

HUGE! What more space could you possibly need. About 4 full-size digital cameras with short/medium/zoom lenses attached plus extra gear like flashes, power packs, diffusers, filters, converters, you name it , it will all fit. Strap is wide and comfortable, texture of bag conforms to professional standards, bottom pad for protection from outdoor elements, exterior pockets large and can hold small -medium size items such as memory cards, extra batteries, flash cords, chargers, and plenty more much needed equipment for a day of shooting. heavy weight construction without the feel of heaviness. Access equipment is quite easy, but the main reason to have such a bag is no extra trips to your vehicle for additional equipment, it's always with you.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

I wasn't sure which size to buy (400 or 650) so I went with the big one. It's a bit big for me but I intend to buy more gear so it's not a bad thing. Here's a list of the gear I fit in it with lots of room to spare (all Canon gear):
                - 6D Camera Body
                - 24-105 f/4.0L
                - 17-40 f/4.0L
                - 50 f/1.4 USM
                - 100 f/2.8L IS USM Macro
                - 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM
                - 580EX Flash
                - 430EX II Flash
                - ST-E2 Speedlite Transmitter

It can still easily fit a 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM, another flash, a few smaller lenses and another camera body. It's basically a massive padded suitcase.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

In spite of the negative comments, I am very pleased by the size and overall quality of this bag. I don't intend to go hiking in the woods with it. Rather, I bought it so that I could throw everything easily in the car without having to gather up a bunch of separate containers.

Right now, it's holding my Canon D50 plus five Canon lenses (including one on the camera). All the lenses, including the 300 mm f4L, fit vertically, since I'm not using the included laptop case. There's still plenty of room for accessories inside the bag, not to mention the several outside pockets.

Just one small criticism: I would have liked the option to purchase the bag without the laptop case, since I don't do any tethered shooting.

Other than that, I'm more than satisfied.

When going out to photograph nature I was carrying several bags to the car and hoping I had not forgotten a lens or adapter that I would want later. Now I keep all the small stuff such as extra cards, lens adapters, two Nikon full framer cameras with GPS, remote and lens (one a 24-70 and the other a 70-200mm) attached plus an ipad in a side pocket, extra batteries, flash with cord, etc. Thus I can grab my tripod the big bag and go.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

I recently took my Magnum 650 AW Lowepro camera bag to Africa on a photographic safare. It held my Nikon D7000, 4 lenses including a 150-500mm telephoto, several accessories, and has a lot of pockets to hold a lot of other goodies. Its' design kept out the dust and still gave me quick access to my lenses for quick changes.
Two other features proved invaluable; 1) it has a sleeeve that allows the bag to slip over the handle of wheeled luggage and frees one hand for carrying other things, and 2) it has two sleeves that held my monopod. I looked at a lot of bags before I found the perfect bag for this trip and now I got rid of my other bags and use this one for any trips I make. It is so perfect I purchased one for Christmas for my oldest son.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

This is a fantastic bag - build quality is top notch, the various moveable compartments are fantastic. The only complaint I have is that it would be nice if it were slightly flatter and not as tall - that would make it fit in the overhead compartment on airplanes...as it is i think i'll need to buy another bag for that purpose which is a shame. But that aside, as a bag, this is excellent.

Great bag if you have a lot of gear and don;t want a hard case. This bag holds 3 bodies, 2 full frame and one smaller, 6 lenses, a speed flash and all the other necessitates including a nice padded case for a 15 inch laptop with a shade hood! A really awesome bag.

This bag holds my 2 cameras with my lenses still attached, which includes my 70-200mm. Plus other accessories. I've been looking for this type of bag for a while. It's big but very sturdy. Too bad it doesn't have wheels, but I put it on a luggage holder with wheels. Plus I love the handles on top to pick it up with.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

I evidently didn't pay attention to the specs when I ordered this monster. We needed it, but I thought it was similar to the bag I had so we would be carrying two bags. Nope... just one.

We have a D3, a D700, and 7 lenses in this bad boy. It also holds our cards, spare batteries, our AA battery charger with lighter adapter, and comes with a laptop case that fits in the top.

It's like throwing a boat anchor over your shoulder fully loaded, but my son prefers to carry it rather than roll it because it makes him look "Bad ***."

We're going to use the old bag for the video camera we are getting next month.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

I checked out all the major brands and I think this is probably one of the larger shoulder bags on the market that suited my needs..and I needed one to carry all my gear! It has great access & easily fits 2 Canon pro bodies with drives, 80-200mm lens, 24-105mm lens, 16-35mm lens, 2 pro flash units, battery pack plus all accessories that make up a working kit. The only drawback is that fully laden its quite heavy but so would any bag with all this gear. As its one of the larger bags available its also a little cumbersome hanging off your shoulder.
Plus I have no use for the 15"notebook sleeve and sunshade (I use 17") which is unfortunate as it seems pretty useful.
All up it works for me as my regular location bag.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 650 AW Shoulder Bag:

This is a awesome bag I had a fairly large roller type case before, but the Lowepro 940 hold ever thing I had in the roller case. What I like most it will hold two DSLR with zoom lenses on them. It also hold a small computer inside the unit.
