The Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch is a compact wired remote switch with a cable which replicates all functions of the camera's shutter release button. Handy for taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach, or to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure. The switch is compatible with the Nikon N90 /s, F100, F5, F6, D200, D300, D3, D1 & D2 Series cameras.

This little remote works very well for only 1/8th the cost of Nikon's MC-30! The connector is sized just right - good and snug in my D700, not too tight or loose. It screws in, but that's not needed. Push it in and it stays put. The button travel is large enough that half-presses to meter and focus are easy. It has a slider to lock down the button for bulb shots. This remote is identical (except for the connector) to the Nikon MC-DC1, used on the D70s and D80. At 3 1/8 inches long and 1.5 oz, it goes right in your shirt pocket. Cord length: 43 inches. The only downside I see is that you don't want to step on it; it's plastic.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
Does what it is supposed to, but cable is on the filmsy side, even for a 3rd party unit. Nikon way overdoes it, but Zeikos underdoes it. Otherwise this functions property, and at $-$ you might as well buy 2-3 to have a spare when it inevitably fails,

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
Cheap enough to have one in each camera bag! So far works as well as my Nikon corded remote. Actually better as the cable is lighter weight and more flexible. Only better thing from a vibration standpoint is wireless, but I'm not finding that as convenient.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
This remote is lightweight, compact, and feels good in the hand. The trigger button is appropriately sized, well placed, and has a positive feel. The cord is about 4 feet long - more than enough. There's a simple slider to hold the button down for bulb exposures, and there's "half-press" functionality for AF activation. I've had no issues. Durability remains to be seen, but for the price I bought two just to have a backup on hand. Recommended.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
For my type of photography (long exposure and macro work), all I needed was a way to trigger the shutter without touching the camera. That's exactly what this does and it works beautifully. I have used this for several months now and it performs perfectly every time. And given the low price, I don't have to worry about it when I'm working in foul weather or near water.
If you need more functionality - like to adjust exposure settings or run multiple flashes - then you will need one of the more expensive options. But if all you need is to fire the shutter remotely, then I can't see how you could do better than this. I gave it five stars, because it simply does what it was designed to do and does so at a great price.

could not ask for more. works and looks like the nikon one. i hear alot of people say they wish the cord was as long as the nikon one but mine is longer. does what its supposed to for half the price.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
It seems to work properly with my Nikon F100 - the half-press (focus) and full-press (shoot) is fairly distinct and easy to control. There's not much to it and it's inexpensive. I have no idea why it needs so many pins...
It would be nicer with a longer cord, but it certainly seems worth the price. I wouldn't have paid much more, but I'm glad to have a remote.

Just works, plug it in, screw the cap, and shot. The best accessory for under $10 for a nikon camera.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
Use on my d200 and d300. Is a replacement for my OEM nikon. Of course it's cheap feeling, it's [$]!!! Works perfect, cord is not too long where you would trip over it, ie the nikon one. If and when it dies I would buy another in a heartbeat. Unless it dies within a month or two I would buy 2 more at a time. Doesnt hurt my feelings when I drop it into the lake I'm shooting.

it is so inexpensive compared to the Nikon's alternative, i gave it a try on my D300S. It works, I would recommend to anyone needing to fire the shutter while the camera is on a tripod.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
Make no mistake, this switch delivers well constructed reliability at unbelievable low price. The fit and connections of the 10 pin connecter is flawless unlike some competitors and the switch although low Tec is very proven and reliable. If it isn't broke don't fix it. Just because you can miniaturize electronic components does not mean you have to. I have had two of the switches and am very satisfied with the performance. I am sure I would still be using the first switch if it did not meet a timely end at the tread of a Michelin tire.

Comments about Zeikos ZE-RMC30 Remote Switch:
Definitely consumer grade product but you can wear out several of these for the cost of the basic OEM cable. Perfect for macro work or when camera is tethered to a tripod.
