If you are looking at this page then you are probably looking for something that will create interesting abstract photos and not perfect sharp images. This camera creates some wonderful images and you can fit soooo many shots on one roll. When shooting in half frame if you hold the camera normally you get a portrait shot and if you put it on its side you get landscape (so it is reversed) . The construction of the camera is surprisingly sturdy, the only thing I don't love is the winder just stops for the next frame but is is not a very positive stop because you can still rotate it a little but it has not caused any real problems and for this price you really can't complain. I recommend a 400-800 iso film. The book that comes with it is pretty cool as well (very inspirational).

The very first film I tried in the Mini Dianna was destroyed by the "sprocket advance notches" (for lack of the correct term) I shoot with Holgas all the time and I love the affect Krappy cameras give an image, but if the essential workings of the camera do not work and you are not able to customize it; What good is the camera?

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

I shoot with this for fun. My Diana F+ was stolen in Guatemala about 6 mos ago, and I missed film shooting, so I picked up this since 35mm film is quite cheaper than 120mm film. By far my favorite feature is the ability to create double exposures.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

I purchased this camera a couple of weeks ago and shot a roll of Tri-X to test it out. Once I developed and scanned the images, I was very pleased. It's what one comes to expect from a Diana camera, just in 35mm format. Oh, and the cable release socket feature is nice, in case you want to shoot long exposures. The Diana Mini fits in my jacket pocket and is ready whenever I want it. A very nice toy camera.
I haven't tried the half-format feature because I really can't wait to shoot 72 images before seeing what I have. I can't say that there's anything about this camera that I DON'T like, yet.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

I've had my Diana Mini for several months now. For such a basic camera it works very well and it fun to use. It definitely makes it easier to take fun portraits of people and it's a conversation starter. It's easy to forget the distance ring but it does focus at the specified distances. Because the aperture is small it is a light-hungry camera. I have found that it works best with ISO 400 and higher film to get the best results.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

This camera seems like it was made very cheaply & I feel like I have to be very careful with it. But then again, it is a toy camera. I had a lot of trouble with my 1st roll of film. Initially, I couldn't advance the film or switch back & forth between half-frame & full-frame. So I decided to open it up again to see if I could fix whatever the problem was. Upon reloading the film the problem was solved. After I fixed that, the counter didn't work so I had no idea how many pics I had taken or how many were left. To top it off, the lab's machine messed up my negatives & I only got half of my pictures back. (Not the camera's fault though!) Hopefully things will go smoother with my 2nd roll of film. I've heard lots of great things about this camera, so I'm hoping I just needed to work out the kinks & it'll be smooth sailing from here.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

When I unwrapped my Diana Mini 35mm this past christmas morning, I had no idea what to expect. Because of the compact and seemingly flimsy design, high hopes were not exactly what I would say I had. This all changed upon receiving my first role of film back from the lab. The camera seemed to know exactly what I was looking to capture in each photo that I snapped. Even though most of the pictures were taken from the hip/quickly shot, each looked as though some sort of planning went into the frame as that lovely abstract colors and shapes appeared when exposed for a longer time. Another fantastic feature is the ability to double expose because of the freely moving advance. It allows for someone with close to no artistic talent to create a beautiful, interesting or even conceptual picture. This little thing has also held up pretty well, as that I have already dropped it several times on bike rides and other "more intense" situations. It is easy to carry around, so when you do not feel like grabbing your large nikon, but still would like interesting photos, this is the camera for you. One disadvantage to the device is that the flash is essential to indoor photos, which is sold separately for 60 USD, but well worth the cash.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

I'm using this camera for some fun street photography, nothing serious. So far it's proven very easy to use, has really great results, and a lot of people ask me about it.

It's small enough to fit in your pocket and works well with all sorts of film. So far I've tried Kodak ISO 100, 400 color and some Fuji ISO 3200 black and white film.

Being a film camera, it obviously doesn't have many of the benefits of a digital camera. That being said, it has the cute form factor, the traditional feel of loading film, and the "surprise" factor since you don't know what you're going to see until you actually get your film printed.

It's a lomo camera so expect weird colors, over exposed edges and light leaks galore.

At the end of the day it shouldn't be considered anything more than a toy, but it's a fun one. I'd also consider using it for some cool projects.

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

This is my fourth lomography camera and I've been pleased so far with with it's performance. It's very tiny, so it's convenient to lug around with you "at all times" as suggested by lomography. Loading the camera was a little tricky- there's a metal clip they tell you to hook the film on but i couldn't figure out how that would work. But thank god for the internet- there are plenty of instructional videos for the diana mini that can help you trouble shoot most problems. Once loaded, everything else is a piece of cake. Point and shoot and wait for the film to be developed. The description of the camera is a bit misleading- while you can switch between the square format and the half-frame format, several of the online videos I've watched warned against doing it because it leads to very confused film developers. If you're a fancy person and are developing your own film, then this shouldn't be an issue. But if you're like me and dropping your film off at target, you might want to stick to one format.

Overall: Tiny, easy to use, makes you look cool by association.

I was looking into buying a diana F+ Camera, but when I saw the little mini, i just couldn't pass it up. It fits easily into my purse and travels with me often! The only trouble I had was when I first started using it, the film roll got stuck. Now that I've gotten used to it, it has been easy to use!
Such unique pictures for such a small camera!

Comments about Lomography Diana Mini 35mm Camera:

Despite its size, the Mini actually packs quite a punch when it comes to analog image capture. Depending on the film specification (400, 800, BW, color, etc.), the Mini's repertoire ranges from the cheeky over-saturated signature Lomo style, to the traditional and poignant black and white landscapes or portraits. Indeed, the Diana Mini is a wonderful sister to the Diana F.
