The Westcott Digital Green Screen Photo Kit adds an impressive location look to your photos for a fraction of the price of an airline ticket.
The 5 x 7' green screen background made of foldable polyester is fitted with grommets that accept the included adhesive hooks as well as background stands or frames.
Westcott has included PhotoKey 2 Lite software which automatically extracts the green background to enable the substitution of your choice of alternate digital background. To inspire and help you get going, the software comes with a collection of 100 digital backgrounds designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of ages and interests. Besides creating stunning settings for new subjects, it's a great way to add to energize previously photographed subjects with a new look.
PhotoKey also provides several settings to enhance, size an easily print your new images. The exotic locales and "big budget" look of your photos will have friends and colleagues wondering when you had time to travel.

I bought this along with strobe lights to do some portraits of my young daughters and the photos turned out better than I thought they would. I bought a few other backdrops just in case the green screen thing didn't work out but I won't even need them. Family and friends are impressed with the quality of the finished product. Just dropped the photos into the software and it magically keyed in any background I selected. Much easier than manually doing it in Photoshop! And it does a decent job for someone without an expert photography eye. Some things to keep in mind, the included green sheet is thin and relatively small, but works out fine for small subjects. You will need at least two strobe lights to get a good key against the green screen. The included PhotoKey software is the Lite version...you need to purchase the upgraded software to get even better controls for adjusting your photos and the background keying. Overall though, I'd definitely recommend this for taking portraits at home and maybe even making a few dollars on the side doing photos for friends and family.

I am underwhelmed by the lack of creativity and variety of backgrounds that come with this software. There are about 95 different studio backgrounds, and about only 5 creative "fun" backgrounds to play around with. I was definitely hoping for more backgrounds that provided the opportunity of placing people in objects for instance there is only one flower to place a child or baby on and one jar, but tons of different colored backdrops!
The plus side is I have a portable studio now and I have printed out each backdrop and put an 8x10 glossy print in a portfolio to show each client prior to their shoot. Makes my job a lot easier and a lot more lucrative than investing in multiple backdrops.
All in all worth the money I paid for it!

The software that you receive is an old version 2.0 (Lite) while they are already on a version 5.0 and not supporting old versions anymore.If you want the version 5.0, pay for an extra upgrade. Lite (U$) and Pro (U$ )That means that you are paying [$] dollars for a single piece of green cloth.

My only negative comment is that the green screen fabric is a bit small. However, I was just shocked that it came in the box at all! Software is easy enough for my students to understand and use (high school).

I was shooting a birthday party with a western theme, so I ordered this and it got to me really just in time for the party. Everyone loved it, it came with a few western backgrounds like the "Wanted" sign that most of the guest liked. I was able to sell a lot of pictures so it paid for itself the first night out. The only down fall is that you don't get full use of all the editing features or templates (just 100 templates in box) until you buy the upgrade for this which is about $. I chose not to do that.

Pretty gimicky. The green screen material works, however IMO providing a couple of hooks to hang it by is a little lacking. The software it ships with is a joke. It can't even read RAW files... A little bit of photoshop knowledge which I already had did a better job.

I use this with photography and I bought this with a set, and its ok if you need it. It comes all in one box. It is supposed to come with two hooks, but I only got one. The software itself is pretty good, except it is the "light" version of the software, so you don't get all the features. It comes with 100 digital backgrounds, but 90% of them can't be used with the 5'x7' background it comes with. All in all, its ok if you need something to use in a pinch, but I would suggest a bigger greenscreen.

This is a solid program but getting the green out is never 100% perfect unless the screen was lit-up sufficiently. This is also only the light version of the program and some of the features or not usable unless you upgrade to the full version. If you are looking to use a green screen this is a good buy, but I myself am going to stick with using different backdrops since it takes away from having to change the backgrounds after the shoot and it eliminates any issues of green color remaining.

Use this for short green screen effects in indie films. The material of the green screen is very thin cloth and can be shear depending on how it's lit so it's best to put it in front of a solid colored wall. I have not used the software and there are only a few included backgrounds that are of interest to me, but I bought it for the green screen, not the software or backgrounds.

Dont waste your time or money, this is garbage, Cheap background that the camera can see right threw, anything behind the green screen (and I am using the term green screen very loose, it's just green fabric with gromets),can be seen in the image, I lit the subject with over 1500 watts and the software still couldn't remove the green background, then left the edges of the subject gray from the feathering that can't be adjusted, the software is the worst green key software I have ever seen, if this is typical of westcott, I can't understand how they are still in business, your better off buying green fabric and using clamp work lights and removing the background using photoshop, I want my money back

I bought this screen for some of our 'fun' events at work. What a hit this was. We allowed hundreds of employees to pick a background and give us their email address. After we imported their picture in front of the green screen into one of the 100 background choices, we sent it to them as a JPG. The employees loved this and keep asking when is the next green screen day? You can also use your own backgrounds so we have used this for graduations, etc.
