The Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG OS Telephoto Zoom makes telephoto shooting easy for many types of photography such as sport and nature. The lens is built with Special Low Dispersion Glass (SLD) elements to provide corrections for all types of aberrations. Its super-multi-layer coating adds to the excellence of images by reducing flare and ghosting, yielding high contrast images throughout the focal range.

Sigma's OS (Optical Stabilizer) can reduce shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. This lens rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur for out-of-focus areas of a picture. With a minimum focusing distance of 59.1" throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.9, this zoom is a good choice for close-up imaging. The compact construction of the lens helps make it good for travel and hand-held telephoto photography.

Comments about Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG OS Lens for Pentax Digital Cameras:

I needed a good zoom and after a lot of research I bought this lens. It's a bit on the heavy side but it's a big chunk of glass. Since I use a Pentax k-5 I don't use the OS to much - it drains the battery quickly. Seems to get the same results except in low light - OS performs better. AF is very quick for a screw drive and I'm happy with it. Zoom creep is very apparent in manual focus but not noticeable with AF engaged but the lens is very new. I think a lens band will be necessary in the near future to protect the AF drive. Over all I am very pleased with this lens, for a zoom it's very sharp with good contrast and resolution. Obviously not an DA* lens which are far to expensive for my budget anyway.

Comments about Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG OS Lens for Pentax Digital Cameras:

Special applications in exits of field and works of photograph of the nature. He is not heavy to work by hand free.
I like to work with him for anxious, aloof or dangerous animal takings since she allows prudent distances.
It is a good complement for an objective 18-70 or 28-70
