I have some very bulky camera equipment (D3s, 14-24mm, 24-70mm and a large speedlite!), and this compact sling bag manages to swallow everything, albeit tightly. I also love the fact that this bag is so action-ready, meaning I don't have to remove it from my back in order to get to my camera.
If you're looking for a bag that doesn't look like a camera bag, then this Sling 180 AW is definitely worth considering, since I'm one of those who doesn't want people to know I'm carrying a camera system during my travels in foreign countries.
The strap is thickly padded, so it's very comfortable. The bag is well made, but I wish it provided an extra padded insert or 2 for the equipment. If you're the kind of person who cares about style too, the bag does appear to be a little "boxy looking", but not a deal breaker though.

First, the positives. The interior compartment is lined with the velcro receiving material so that the partitions can be moved every which way. Yea!(Unlike the SlingShot, which does not the velcro receiving material on the large flap, so cannot move partitions where I wanted them). So the interior space can be completely customized. That space enabled me to place my Nikon D7000 in the middle (with a Nikor 24-120mm f4 zoom lens attached)facing down, with the large Nikon sb-900 flash on the left and another zoom lens on the right. This enabled a fairly quick/easy access to camera and flash, and fairly easy access to 2nd lens.
This bag fit under a Jet Blue seat.

Bad news. The sling strap has padding on just half the length of the strap! So when bag is swung around to front, the padding does not protect shoulder! I took the excellent strap pad from the Stealth Reporter bag, put it on the Sling strap so when bag was in front, wasn't so uncomfortable. I am fairly thin, so bag might feel better if you have more fat... but I doubt it. Why padding on only half the strap?
Bag did not stay flush to my body when swung around to access camera. Leans away from my chest. (My Nova 3 does stay flush against my torso when I shift it to my front.)
I have been using my Nova 3 AW as a shelf for my camera - camera strap is around my neck, but I rest camera on bag, with bag swung around to my front. Takes the weight of the DSLR off my neck. Can use the Classified Sling as a shelf in the same manner, but not as comfortable as the Nova slung across chest and over one shoulder.) I found the Nova 3 WITH the pad from the Stealth Reporter to be more comfortable than this sling!(Nova 3 replaced by the Nova 180.) If/when my should feels irritated, I can easily take the Nova off, move to my other shoulder. Cannot change shoulders with this Sling - meant to rest on right shoulder. Better to get a bag with 2 shoulder straps if comfort is most important. (The Kata 3 in 1 can be has 2 backpack straps, which can be converted to sling. However, not as easy to get camera out of main compartment as the Kata opening does not cover the width of the interior compartment)
I will now get the Nova 190 as I need more space than my old Nova 3. As for quick draw, easy access, the old fashioned Nova "over flap" style is better. Can open it more quickly as just need to use the front clasp to secure it closed; I usually leave it unzipped when in shooting mode. This Classified Sling has the memory card holders on the flap which tend to snag the camera as I pulled it out. (I folded the flaps of teh memory card holders in, whcih helped.) The Nova 3 AW has handy mesh side pockets - good place to store a lens cap, and the mesh makes it easy to see where I put the lens cap. The Sling does not. The inside of the Nova 3 has a great see through zip pocket under the flap - where I store memory cards. (The newer Nova 180 or 190 has same zip pocket under flap but not see through. Too bad.) I widh teh Nova came with a better strap pad, such as the one that comes with the Stealth Reporter. (Which is a good bag, but not quite as stiff as my Nova - top of interior tends to collapse a bit on the Reporter. Also Nova has padding on the fop of the flap, Reporter does not.

So if comfort is a priority, I say look at a different bag (Kata). that is why I give it 2 stars. If quick draw easy access most important, get a Nova.

That was my first Sling bag and I loved it the minute I started walking with all my gears loaded inside. The bag is very comfortable (I walked 7 hours / day for 5 straight days in NYC) and has lots of room despite its small size. It even has a place to carry a monopod or tripod.

Absolutely love this bag, well built and holds what I have. Really like how the water cover and tripod holder are incorporated and well placed. Like the customization of the interior. Have already wore it on hikes and at a wedding and it is comfortable and works well. Well worth it!

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

This camera bag is well-made with removable panels so that you can configure your bag to your specific needs. My Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 150-600mm lens attached fits snugly in the bottom of the bag, including its lens hood on backwards. With some of the adjustable dividers back in for padding, I can also fit my 18-105mm lens and battery charger with room left over inside. The exterior holds a tripod and the additional stabilizer strap is a definite plus.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

This little 180 AW is great for carrying around the city and particularly on the subway because you can slide it around in front for security etc. If you need to carry much more than one camera body and a couple of lenses it just won't be big enough so it has limited use for assignment work but there are larger bags in the range to fit the task. Access can also be a little tricky as the zips could really wrap around the front more.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

I bought this bag to replace my thirty year old Tenba. I wanted a sling bag so that it would be easy to use in the field, and it works very well. It holds my Nikon D7000 and three lenses with room to spare, my 17" laptop will not fit, but a smaller one or tablet would fit just fine. The bag is very well made and should last along time and offers very good protection for my gear. I would recommend this bag to anyone.

This is the perfect bag to use on a shoot. I can fit all of my lenses (even my macro) and no matter where I am shooting I can flip the bag around and get the gear I need. It even has a waterproof cover for inclement weather. One of the other cool things about this bag is that it is flat so you can fit a tablet or laptop easily in the pocket. It also has a place where you can attach your tripod on the side.

Use for outdoor photography / videography. I just bought this once I snagged the D5100 and it fits it well even with a grip. Holds camera body with lens and room for one more lens. As well, handles all my extras fine. I threw on the pack and actually went mountain biking with it as well to make sure it would suffice. It worked well. Never felt uncomfortable, but just double check your strap, make sure it's secured. If you move up to a bigger camera body, you may want to step up a sling size. I'm happy.

On the inside it has a variety of compartments for several types of cameras and equipment. The icing on the cake is a built-in inclement weather cover that stores out of site when not in use. Kudos Lowepro!

I took a long time to find the right bag for my new DLSR. I wanted something I could wear while hiking, yet still have my camera accessible when needed. I am able to carry my camera body, with lens attached and two other lenses with ease. There is room in the top for a flash, but not quite enough room for a fourth lens. It is the closest to a carry everything bag I found that was still portable and comfortable to wear.

I'm not sure why these other ppl gave this bag a good review, because personally, I hated it! I spent over an hour trying to get my gear to fit in here. The opening is so narrow (it's on the side of the bag) that you can't really access things easily. In order to get to anything, it's like you have to move everything else out of the way. Sent this back and got the Lowepro traveler 150. I'm pretty happy with this one. I would not recommened the 180 AW to anyone.

It's a great bag for the in between bag. On small remote shoots you don't need to haul the big camera bag with everything.
This works for the smaller bag that isn't too small and isn't too big. Right in that sweet spot.
I shoot with a Canon Mark III 1DS and it's a big camera, most small bags won't fit a pro camera. This works great.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

I was looking for a bag that I could use while shooting on location and having to move quickly from set up to set up.
I previously had a backpack which was great for distributing the weight evenly - I could carry the backpack and all my gear for hours without feeling the stress on my back.
With this bag, I get what i was looking for - a sling bag that fits all my stuff - a 5D Mark II with 24-70mm zoom lens attached and 85mm fixed lens, large quantum turbo battery pack, 580EXII Flash with modifiers, extra batteries, connector cables and memory cards. it's not a lot of gear, but you'd be surprised by how many sling bags don't hold that much gear and the bigger ones are too big & the little bit of equipment that I like to leave in the bag ended up sloshing around.
I also tried the Ape Case sling - it was the perfect size, but the shoulder strap didn't size down to fit my small frame (i'm 5'2" tall about 120lbs.). Otherwise I would have purchased the ape case sling.
So far, this bag has been a decent fit - the quality of the bag is definitely good - important when you think about how expensive the gear it's holding is! the price was right and the bag was as close to perfect as I could find after many, many hours of searching and trying on different bags from a bunch of different stores.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

I was looking for something compact and at the same time functional. Not too large and yet be able to fit a lot of the stuff we have come to deem necessary. I'm delighted.

The main compartment is well padded. There is enough space for the body with a lens, two additon lens slots and ample room for a strobe.

There is a front pocket for pens, small items, ear phones, and extra memory cards. (they actually include a case that holds about half a dozen memory cards - nice touch.

What is really exciting is the extra padded pocket in the back (which would be the side closed to your body). There is a zippered compartment that is more or less a sleeve. The nces thing about it is that the iPad fits in there perfectly and with the ample padding, there is nothing to worry about.

                            Love the bag.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 180 AW Bag:

This is not a bag, is a really nice and comfortable small suitcase. You can use it like a case or a backpack. Enough++ room to store a T2 with 2 extra lenses and more. In Florida you would be in love with the "weather cover", very useful. I returned the 220 AW because it was heavy, the 180 is slightly heavier but totally worth it.
