So first, this bag can carry a LOT of gear, they are quite conservative in the description (my gear list below), it's deep allowing stacking of (2) large lenses or (2) DSLR bodies PER section and there are three flexible sections in the main compartment (or can be converted to more/less). It's made VERY well, and it is a SLING bag so when loaded up it (like ANY bag its size) will be heavy, so to the other reviews that said it was too heavy for their shoulder, I'd advise using a sling bag as it's intended and put it ACROSS your body, not over your shoulder. SLINGs are not shoulder bags, they're meant to be carried across your body and then quickly rotated to the front for easy access from the large access main door. (the photos in the smaller model (180AW) of this bag show proper sling bag position i.e. over the head and shoulder, not just shoulder)

I've carried mine all over Europe street shooting, day-long treks etc. where I wanted to carry all or most of my gear with me. The low profile style doesn't scream "I have $10K in cameras and lenses here, come rob me!" when you're walking less desirable neighborhoods late night or 5AM on the Danube waiting for that empty square or perfect sunrise. Granted if you use the tripod attachment and carry one, it's kind of a moot point. I have a tiny Benro travel tripod that fits perfectly and I travel with it often but I also have attached my much larger Manfrotto 055XPROB with a large head without a problem though only for day shooting in NYC or Central Park, not sure how well it would travel given how large the 055X series.

So what will it hold? I pretty much left it as it came, moved some of the dividers a 1/2 inch here or there maybe but mine contains:

    - (2) DSLRs - b/u Canon body only at bottom center and Canon 7D with either my 24-70mm lens ATTACHED above it
    - (5+) additional lenses (in their fitted cases!) 2 on the left, 2 on the right stacked. A mid range prime, a 10-20 wide angle but 2 are longer and fit easily (Sigma 70-200 and Sigma 70 f/2.8 all 4 in cases)
    - an additional small lens (Canon 50mm prime) in center section with my camera
    - additional room in main compartment on top of the lenses, L/R of DSLR for a flash, meter, etc.
    - bottom section holds a Slik MiniPro, my Canon battery charger, and (2) filter wallets holding 10-12 filters and a large hi-speed card reader
    - top section holds a large Giottos ball head, numerous cables, cell phone, and a pocket cam (mine is one of the tiny Canon Elphs)
    - the zippered compartment holds several batteries, a few quick release plates, lens covers/caps, lens wipes, etc and stil allows closure without hitting the DSLR
    - plenty of room and nice padding for the laptop section plus another smaller outer zip pocket for personal items which acts as another buffer for your laptop should you drop the bag etc. I only carry a netbook and it also allows room for my external hard drive when traveling but can easily fit the larger laptop size mentioned in the specs.

Great bag, the main one of three I use; I also have a much smaller Lowepro sling for my camera and two other lenses only and a large backpack I use when hiking which allows attachment of non-photo equipment, etc.

Lowepro is a high quality, good priced brand in general. 220 AW bag however wasn't what i expected practically wise. It is very well built and sturdy. Has some good features like the pockets, tripod holder and the rain sleeve. and for the price, it was attractive for me. But when i received it, it was bigger and bulkier than i thought it would be. I'm 6' 2" 175lbs and i feel like im wearing a ninja turtle shell. It is definitely too big to be an everyday, walk around bag i mistakenly thought it would be. I need another bag for that. It does however make an excellent travel/transport bag. Stuffed it holds fairly securely my EOS 60D with battery grip attached, Ex480 flash, 18-135mm 3.6, 50mm 1.4, 70-200mm 2.8 with case, 2 battery chargers foldable flash bounce and some accessories. It has nice pockets with place to store pens, mobiles and business cards. Do i use it often? not as much as i wish i did. I rather go with my 18-135in my back pocket, 50 on camera and 70-200 in the case it comes with and sling it over my shoulders. So if you use your camera every day or two, you're not going to want this bag. But if you travel long distances transport you gear to your shoot then this is an excellent choice. Its large enough to be taken as carry-on,

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

This sling bag is beutifuuly designed and constructed but much too big to be useful.

It's made tru to its specs but appears far smaller than it really is.

Fill with gear and you're going to need a serious amount of strength to tote it around.

Partially fill it and it becomes somewhat clumsy use on the run.

This backpack is excellent although the sling strap is a bit uncomfortable. It doesn't really sit comfortable as the macbook is on the outside it kind of pulls the pack down vs other backpacks with macbook directly on your pack and lighter items on the outside.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

This bag is really big for a sling, but the only bag I could find with the side sling style opening that could easily fit a body mounted on a 70-200 with the hood on. This will do that with lots of space. The included padding can be re-arranged, though for my mentioned scenario it is not perfect, but workable. Top storage and tripod attachment are nice features. The large sling opening has nice zip and buckle feature for keeping it from flopping open fully/accidentally. This is a really well-built bag, and has nice rigid protection in its walls.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

Okay, this is definitely not the most comfortable bag for a long hike, with its underpadded single shoulder strap and low-riding load right behind your kidneys. But I have an Olympus Micro four-thirds setup, and this is SO much more adaptable than the typical DSLR-sized side- and front-loading backpacks available frome LowePro and everyone else. It's a pity this is dicontinued, because I can get two OM-D bodies, one with a 12-40 PRO lens mounted, one with a 25mm f1.8, a 40-150 PRO, a Metz flash unit ... and that's just in TWO divided sections of the main compartment. So it's a fantastic bag to take on jobs, since it'll also hold a typical laptop along with a 7" covered tablet in the front two zippered compartments -- without looking like an overloaded camera bag. It's really slick and non-gearhead, so it looks totally professional to clients. For every other application, well, that's why they make all those other smaller bags, holsters and pouches.

For the street photographer with too much stuff. I use this for street photography and I use massive medium format film cameras. I don't understand who else would need so much space but it does the job. I kind of wish is was like 15% smaller. I'm 220 6ft and I feel it is a massive bag even on me. If there was a size between the 220 and the 180 that would be the perfect bag. Of course great quality from Lowepro and really nice design but the size is kind of comical.

I owned the Lowepro Sling 302 AW. In fact, I have owned two of these bags and they have served me will. The drawback to the Sling 302 bag is that it does not have space to accomodate my 15 inch laptop. Now with the Classified Sling, I can pack my laptop to my shoot without having to carry an extra laptop bag. The added utility to this bag has me thinking about buying a second one.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

I ordered this bag as a Cyber Monday deal not having known anyone with a Lowepro bag and going solely off online reviews. This bag is extremely high quality. I like that it doesn't have any huge logos or any text that really says, "steal me; this bag is extremely valuable." It is very cushioned and definitely designed for field work. It has a really great media card storage panel that even gives you a way to indicate whether the card is full or ready to shoot on which is a handy little feature (3 slots). Great for carrying multiple camera bodies and lenses and designed for quick switching. Has a great weather proof cover that slides out and covers the bag quickly. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. Solid construction and I'd imagine I'll have it for a long, long time. I will say, though, as a 5'6" girl with an average build, this bag is quite large on me, so if you're looking for something small, I would go for the other smaller model.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

This is a big bag as many reviewers have said, however, it was perfect for me to transporting a couple of digital single lens reflex cameras and lenses (a Nikon D90 and a Nikon D5100) from Boston to Las Vegas, where I had a good time shooting on day trips to the surrounding countryside. I packed a 18 to 55 mm zoom lens, a 35mm fixed lens, and a 55 to 200 mm zoom lens and an 11 to 16 mm super wide angle lens. One of the great things about the bag is that it is large enough to allow me to pack the camera bodies with one lens attached inside of a holster bag. This makes for tremendous padding and convenience. Like a lot of other reviewers, I wouldn't carry drag this around the desert for eight hours. That was the job for the holster bags attached to a waist belt.

easily holds 2 DSLR bodies, 3 lenses, flash, batteries, chargers, fong cloud type diffuser, and more. This is not a small bag by any means. Would recommend to anyone wanting a larger size bag.

Comments about Lowepro Classified Sling 220 AW Bag:

This bag is very spacious and can be configured to fit 4-6 lenses in addition to my T3i, zoom H4n, chargers batteries etc. The single sling strap puts a bit of strain on one shoulder, but the quick release buckle on the strap makes it very easy to take the bag on and off. Overall the bag is well made and there are a lot of thoughtful details throughout. The SD card compartments have reversible full/empty labels, and there are pockets for just about everything you can think of. Biggest plus is how deep the bag is, and since the padding is all adjustable there are many ways to utilize that space.

Sling bag can fits in Two DSLR camera (D90/D7000) with mid-lens attached such as 28-300mmVR/16-35mm VR, still a lot of room for at least; telephoto 50-500mm OS, 105mm VR, 28mm, 50mm,10.5mm lenses, battery, flash etc. all your equipment, and my Sony 14.5"x10.25"x1.25" inch laptop too. Also, build in-Tripod mount holder, Rain cover, waist belt. That is what I looking for travel with one bag for flight and protection the gear with easily operate too.
Some may think is old design and a little bigger the size, I was okay and you may need more ripped dividers.
