It has a set of padded and adjustable dividers to customize the interior.

The Pro Trekker 600 AW has a removable waistpack that serves in two ways, first as a traditional backpack lid, providing extra security and weather protection, and second as a waistpack with a mesh-covered back pad. It also has an All Weather AW Cover with cinch straps that protects the pack from the elements. There is a Checkpoint-friendly 15.4" laptop sleeve in the front pocket that adheres to most airline requirements eliminating  the need to remove your laptop from the sleeve at security checkpoints. Three integrated tripod sleeves at the front and sides of the pack store, protect and secure tripods, monopods, trekking or ski poles. It has 2 large side pockets that can store large accessories or personal items; 1 is designed for a hydration bladder and includes a seam-sealed pouch that can hold up to 70 ounces of liquid (does not include hydration reservoir), 4 memory card pockets and a removable cord management pouch. There are 2 roomy pockets and a key clip in the removable waistpack. The SlipLock attachment loops and sturdy D-rings are used to carry optional accessories.

The pack is carried by a heavy-duty grab handle, an adjustable-torso harness system, with a Pack Jack tool that provides a fully customized and comfortable fit. Using the tool, the wearer can shorten or lengthen the distance between shoulders and hips. There is a 10-point adjustment system that allows customize fitting at the top of the pack, shoulders, torso, sternum, waist and lumbar areas. There is an adjustable, removable waistpack that includes thick, moisture wicking material and mesh-covered padding to provide added comfort and compression straps on the bottom.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker 600 AW Backpack:

This backpack is huge!!! Plenty of customizable space, that will carry all your equipment in the trail if you train yourself adequately. Usually I carry two DSLR bodies, one mirrorless camera with adapter for DSLR lenses, two full flashes, one ring flash, one macro flash system, 4 lenses (one of the 150-500mm zoom), beamer, collapsable diffuser and reflectors, plenty of batteries for camera/flash, small digital voice recorder, etc. Very comfortable, but I have to remind myself that on long treks, I cannot take everything with me!!!

Holds all of my equipment including a soft-box and a reflector. Pretty big, and the bag itself is a little heavy, but is durable and can hold a lot of equipment.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker 600 AW Backpack:

Perfect for my needs. Own two cameras (D800E and EM-500), five lenses, two flashes, tripod, small video camera, batteries, battery chargers (Nikon and Olympus), batteries and recharger (NiMH for my flash units), Dell XT3 tablet and charger, and external hard drive, and a kitchen sink (Ha Ha) that I like to travel with. The bag is huge but I would rather have more room than not enough. Interior is adjustable and easy to adjust.

One comment to an earlier reviewer that said this bag does not meet FAA standards... it does. This bag is not 56 inches but 56 cm (big difference). I bought it for a trip to Washington and Canada and it travelled great with no problems on large and small planes.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker 600 AW Backpack:

This bag is big. It carries all my stuff and I still have room for another body and 2 lenses.
I think it is too big to get on a plane as carry on luggage so it is mainly just a place to store all my stuff together at home. I very seldom need to take everything with me anyway.

It is well built. Regular Lowepro quality construction...

As others have mentioned, the main zipper is stiff and difficult to pull but I am a big boy now and don't need my mother's help zipping the bag up.

When it is loaded, it is very heavy. More than I want to carry. I'm thinking of getting the Lowepro Rover Pro 45 because it seems ideally suited to carrying a body, couple lenses, tripod and still has room for a light jacket, and lunch.

If you want an expensive bag to leave at home, this is the one.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker 600 AW Backpack:

Pack is well constructed and has LOTS of room. The only issue is that it cannot be used as Carry-On luggage. The Description in the Overview on BH site states, "Meets current FAA specifications for carry-on luggage." This claim is not found on the LowePro site.

It is not even close. The bag is 56 linear inches. The FAA limit is 45 linear inches. (See FAA web site.)

Unfortunately, I have to return this item.

Being a biophotography professor, I needed a large backpack to store and carry my gear. The Pro Trekker 600 AW certainly fitted the bill. Although lightweight, it is durable and has plenty of room. It is just what I need to take into the field and photograph plants, biomes, and critters.

This bag holds everything I use - Mamiya RZ Pro II with 3 lenses, 2 Nikon Speedlites, 2 Nikon D700's and 3 Nikon Pro lenses. Also can carry all a tripod and 3 light stands, or a derivative of that.

Its very well constructed and would handle almost anything mother nature flings at you. Certainly a pack worth considering for nature photographers. Includes so many really useful add ons and features, like the add-on bag that either attaches to the top of the bag or can used as a waist pack. The huge amount of adjustments of straps for support and holding items in place. Best of all, it has an seemingly endless supply of places to put STUFF.

A great big bag to carry a bunch of gear. It is way bigger than it looks. As I shoot video and stills at the same time, I love it. If you only shot stills or video, I'd go with a smaller version.
                        A super well-made bag.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker 600 AW Backpack:

I have owned and used many LowePro backpacks over the years. I tend to like the older AW Pro model over the new one. I find that accessing equipment (with all parts attached) more cumbersome and the overall interior size (with that big interior conical hump at one end) less than expected and, because of the hump, utilizing the space at that end is somewhat more difficult. It is somewhat lighter than the old style packs and the built in hydration support is useful (although I did almost exactly the same thing with one of the large side pouches on my old pack). The zippers also seem a little stiff - I will try some silicon spray on them and see if that helps; I'm worried about whether the rubber pull rings will stand up to use over many years (like my old pack has). I am not replacing my old pack - this is for a new camera system and will continue to use both depending on the system I want to use. I found that rearranging the internal dividers to provide for large format equipment to be somewhat problematic. I liked the larger pocket space on the flip-up part of the old bag - these pocket are all a little smaller and restrict the size of items that I can include (e.g., plasticized reciprocity cheat sheets, etc.). They do fit in the top part of the bag though - which means it is effectively not detachable for my purposes. This is definitely not a carry-on size bag based on current TSA size restrictions. But overall a good bag with the quality that I've come to expect from LowePro.

Lightweight and lots of room. Lots of pockets and room for all your gear. With all my lenses, flashes and my camera it still feels light. Would recomend for anyone, even if you don't go out backpacking/hiking.
