Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

This tripod is really well made. It is so lightweight but feel strong in your hand.Perfectly finished, it is stable. You can feel confident to put your expensive equipment on it.I was able to do some long exposure (30s) shots with a good wind around and all my shots were tack sharp. The bag and the pouch with the toolkit and the spiked feet in it which are delivered with it are well made and practical. The 3 sections legs do not fold as small than the 4 sections legs but it remain really easy to transport it.I'm using it with the low profile ball head Induro BHL1 and it is a great combo.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

I bought this tripod from B&H about 2.5 years ago. I was recently in Death Valley, CA, where I used the tripod extensively--had the legs in deep sand and in a very dusty environment. When I returned home, I decided to give the tripod a good cleaning. To my amazement, all the legs worked smoothly and there was no gritting sound like one would expect from sand getting into the leg locks, etc. Anyway, I did discover that one of my rubber feet could not be unscrewed (I attribute this to an initial manufacturing defect and not to the trip to Death Valley).

I needed to get a copy of the receipt to send to the Induro folks to get the lower leg replacement under Induro's 5-year warranty program, but could not find a copy of the receipt. I immediately contacted B&H and one of the associates found the receipt and e-mailed it to me right away. I then sent that, along with a copy of my warranty registration (page from the Induro website) and the defective lower leg to Induro's Repair Service and was amazed at how quickly Induro replaced the part--the whole operation took about 5 days (send and return) and that included weekend time. Needless to say, THANK YOU B&H and INDURO for your great customer support!

By the way, the tripod is very light, very easy to set up and all its mechanisms work smoothly. I strongly recommend this tripod without any reservation whatsoever--great product from a great company and from a great retailer (B&H).

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

I did lots of research for an affordable, well made, light weight tripod and Induro was my choice. I am 68 and love to go out hiking with my camera, but my nice old Manfrotto 190 ART was getting heavy for me.

So far the tripod suits me well...the weight, the feel and the twist locks all affirm my choice. The bag. spike feet and kit that came with it are all a nice bonus. I may sometime go up to the next level of weight bearing and sturdy...but for now I am very happy with the CT113.

Whatever negatives there may be for me with this tripod haven't as yet revealed themselves. Things aren't perfect, there maybe something I will in the future wish was different on my CT113...but so far I'm not aware of negatives.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

I love this tripod! Just like the ballhead I bought, I originally went to the store intending to buy a Gitzo, but it was a tad pricey and I just didn't fall in love with it. The salesperson assessed my needs, and immediately steered me to this Induro. The price was great, and the 3 sections (rather than 4) made it feel so much more stable and sturdy. It comes with a great carrying case that has just enough room so that you can store the tripod in the case with the bullhead still mounted on. It also comes with spikes too, which is a nice touch. It has great height but still packs up small enough to make for a good travel tripod and the low weight is a blessing to my back when I'm carrying it around. Overall an excellent, sturdy tripod that doesn't seem to sacrifice instability for ease of portability.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

I bought this tripod (and a Markins Q3 ballhead) as a smaller and lighter alternative to hike with, and I am not disappointed. The tripod is very light, really rigid and built very well from what I can see. I also have a Gitzo Explorer with 3 leg sections, and the leg locking mechanism is very similar. The legs lock strong and do not twist. The ONE thing that kept it from earning 5 stars for me, was that the center column needed to be tightened a bit more than I thought necessary. I remedied this by putting some masking tape inside the center locking sleeve to make it fit more snug around the center column, and now it works like a charm.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

I use this tripod with a Canon EOS 1d Mark IV with the 70-200mm f2.8L II IS USM, both weighing about 10.5 lbs. It is a great combination. The padded legs make it comfortable to carry over the shoulder for long distances, over 5 mi.
This tripod is very well engineered and manufactured. I bought the Induro CT314 first and now this one for a lighter lens. Both are excellent tripods.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

After researching tripods, I was looking for something good in price and build. For carbon fiber tripods, I looked at the Benro (same company as Induro), it was about half the price which seemed very promising. When looking at the tripod in store the Benro was junk, yet the Induro was excellent in build and price. It is stable with my 7D and 24-70 L lens on it. One problem is that it's not too convenient to carry around all day if that's what you are looking for.

[...]I love this tripod! It is light weight, comes with the case and even after attaching the head it still fits in the case. I know I am going to use this often and will have it forever because it is built so well. I like how the legs adjust there is nothing I do not like except the price but after you have the product you do not think about the price just whether it will do the job for you. Do not shop around this is the tripod to buy.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT113 Tripod:

First I own the previous version C113 and not CT113. Assuming the quality is at least the same this is one nice tripod. I had wanted a lightweight tripod for traveling and venturing into hard-to-go places, and this fits just that purpose. I owned a Benro Travel Angel C-1691 EX for couple years now and this is definitely a better choice and I will let you know why.

                      1) Benro Travel Angel's design to reverse the legs when closed is great for reducing length. It may be great for packing in suitcases, but it is not friendly when placing in today's backpack designs for holding tripods on the outside. When fully closed, Benro's length is 5" shorter but with normal closing without reversing the legs it's only 3" shorter. However, by having 5 segments instead of 3, the Travel Angel's stability is way less than this Induro.

On a second note, locking the non-rotating legs is way more stable than the wing locks like Manfrotto and even some Benro models. Yes, under ideal tension the wing locks are perhaps more convenient by a small margin. But after using these, I have to say that margin is null because I can one quarter-turn twist to open both locks, and two quarter-turn twists to lock after extension. This beats the 4 flips necessary to open and close 2 wing locks (if these were wing locks). Also my problem with wing locks had always been having the perfect tension and it's a maintenance item which I don't care for because depending on where I go the climate will change the tension and will sometimes render wing locks very difficult to operate (or don't secure well).

Lastly, because the Travel Angels need to flip the legs around for storage, they reduced one position lock on the leg angle. This is a huge disadvantage because I lost several possible combination of leg angles to get the tripod head closer to the ground. (Sorry, I am just not one to mount a camera up-side-down by reversing the center column and calling it a feature.)

I had concerns with these made-in-China products before, but after experiencing these tripods I have to say I am sold on this manufacturer.

This is a great tripod for hiking and traveling with a DSLR - lightweight, folds pretty small, fast setup, and very rigid for the size and weight.
