Tripod is used with a Wimberly WH200 Gimbal Head to mount a Nikkor 600 mm. f4 AFS-1 that is coupled with a Nikon D5100 body. Wimberly head mounts and dismounts easily and quickly from the tripod. Tripod is ver sturdy. The turn-tensioners at the leg joints are quick, smooth and solid. The maximum height (four leg sections) affords all the height that I could want. Total weight is close to that of the cheaper aluminum clunker that I used to struggle with. I saved a good bit of money by buying this brand and model rather than a "comparable model" from a top-of the-line competitor. With the lens-camera unit properly balanced in the Wimberly Head there seems to be little vibration when using a remote shutter release. I've been waiting for one of these for a long time and don't expect to buy another tripod.

I am a Gitzo user but wanted to try the Induro line of tripod legs due to the smaller price tag and it was the only three section tripod with column I could find that would extend above my eye level. I use my gear daily as a professional so I put a lot of stress on my gear. This set of legs was great for several months but then it started showing weaknesses. The foam around the legs started pealing off right away. Then the allen bolts connecting the legs to the spider began coming loose and I resorted to carrying an allen key and had to tighten them daily. The legs also began squeaking when folding and unfolding. The plastic clips that keep the legs from pulling out when extending constantly failed. The legs would also jam up because the plastic clips would get caught up. I would recommend this tripod if you don't use it daily. As a professional I would spend as much money as you can afford and buy something better. I am buying another Gitzo. My last Gitzo lasted almost ten years before it needed replacement.

    Awesome Tripod!!

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

I was looking at the really right stuff carbon fiber legs when I decided to look up a less expensive option, and where the really right stuff tripod is amazingly built, this tripod just seemed to over a little bit more in terms of value so I pulled the trigger. I've been really happy with the purchase! The tripod is very stable and super light, I'd reccomend it to anyone shooting landscapes or interiors / architecture.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

My main use for this tripod is Nature Photography using many Lenses including Canon 800mm. I require tripods that are stable and fast to set up. The INDURO CT414 provides me with everything I need. I did however purchase a short center column for my tripod which I wished was an original item rather than the long center column.
I have many tripods that are much more expensive but this one can compete with the best I own.

We are using a 7D with a 400 MM canon lens and this tripod holds it dead still in strong winds. Solid construction that so far has withstood the gulf salty air, and sands from the beach.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

Purchased with a Wimberley II gimbal head for use with a 500mm f/4 lens for wildlife photography and airshows. Everything about the CT-414 was well thought out and the quality of manufacture is top-notch. Most importantly, there is a minimum of lateral play when the head is locked down for stationary subjects. The included spiked feet are indispensable for outdoor work and are longer and sharper than the two-way retractable rubber models that I have used before. The only things that I would change would be to lose the center column, which adds to the weight and serves no purpose when working with the big lenses this tripod was built for, and reshape the included case so that it can be used with a head attached to the tripod.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

I had previously used the Induro CT214 tripod as my daughter has one. The 214 was good but it was inclined to move in a strong wind so I decided to get something a little heavier. The CT414 is all that I wanted in a tripod, it is solid and fairly heavy, but not too heavy for me, it will not move in a wind. I believe it will be suitable for any lenses up to 600mm.

I investigated several tripods with the features I wanted: a certain height, four extension lengths, capable of not have a center extension to raise, and a very solid feeling with 8xx carbon. I sound that combination of features in the CT 414 tripod by Induro. I am extremely pleased with it.

I just thought that I would take a minute and tell all you reviewers, that purchasing this piece of equipment was not an easy one for me too make.
I have always wanted the RRS full deal meal. My mind is tired of trying to make the right move. So now that you know all of this information; This is what I ended up doing. Yes, I bought this tripod over the RRS. However I also purchase the RRS ball head BH-55PCLR to go with this set of legs. Why? because I want to do some serious macro images and I made the move to the RRS ball head.
However; I did not purchase the RRS versa tripod. I ordered this CT414 tripod for less then 1/2 the cost of the RRS rig . I also wanted to add a ring light flash too my macro system and the money I saved on the tripod well pay for the new ring light flash.
After all of the reviews, I think I have made the right move for once!

I use two of these tripods mainly for my 5 foot timelapse slider with a pan-tilt head.

I was very impressed by the built quality. You get a really lightweight, sturdy and well constructed product for a fair price.

I also ordered the Induro BHD3 Ball Head and it works very well with this tripod.

I coupled this tripod with the Manfrotto 393 Heavy Duty Gimbal Type Telephoto Lens Support. This is a great combination for a super stable support for my Nikkor 500mm and D800. The stability is incredible. I also appreciate the 67" height with the center column retracted. This is a great value.

Want a very tall, beefy tripod? Don't want to spend over a grand? This is the one for you. I did not compare weights between this and the similar over $1000 Gitzo.
Both carbon fiber. With the sale price I feel like I got a great deal. Hopefully it will last and continue to make me feel this way.

The tripod is a replace for an older aluminum unit that has seen better days. I also purchased the short (4.7") Benro center column to permit lower height camera placement. The unit is topped with a new RSS BH-55 head. I do not consider the tripod heavy, it comes with just about everything you need including tool pouch and spikes, and a nice carrying bag. I purchased from B&H on sale and I could not be happier with this rock solid tripod. As usual B&H is pleasure to work with.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

Can't say enough good about this tripod or about what a great value it is. I own a couple of Gitzo's and a Manfrotto. This Induro beats them all in stability. It includes everything you will need (a bag, toolkit and spiked feet) unlike the other manufacturers who charge extra for such things. The fit and finish of the unit is on par with Gitzo (which is to say, as good as it gets) but it feels more substantial. It has nice touches that you do without on a Gitzo like closed cell foam grips on the upper parts of the legs. And all of this comes at less than half the cost of a similarly appointed Gitzo. Wow! My advice... skip the Gitzo and get this unit. There is literally no downside. Highly recommended.

I was immediately impressed upon taking the tripod out of the box. It is high quality, sets up easily and takes down easily. It is very sturdy and does what I needed it to do.

Best tripod i've owned to date, period! I just don't understand why you would spend $800-$1200 for a RRS (and you all know who that is) tripod when you can own an awesome induro for CT414 $[$] that will support up to 55#! All I can say is RRS, you aren't that good or, $$$$ much better. This CT414 is rock solid, very smooth to operate and relatively light for a tripod of this support capability. Additionally, you get a really nice case, carrying strap that can be used directly on the tripod or on the case, tool kit, spiked and rubber feet! I topped mine with a ARCA SWISS Z1-SP ball head and this is an awesome combo!Remember, "ROCK SOLID"!

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:

I use this for wildlife and landscape photography. This is my first Carbon Fiber tripod, so it's definitely lighter than my previous one. I don't think this would be the one to chose for hiking any long distances, but I have done it. It is easy to set up and is extremely stable. I attach a RRS 55 ballhead to it and then a Wimberly sidekick to hold my D800 and Nikon 500mm lens for wildlife photography and it's been very stable. The center rod prevents you from getting really low for landscape, but they do sell a very short center column that would eliminate that problem. I have the 214 version now for my landscape photography, which is much more portable for long hikes. The price is certainly way better than other quality tripod manufacturers and it comes with accessories that are usually separate purchases with the other companies. It comes with spike feet, a tool kit and a carrying bag. Love it!

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT414 Tripod:
