The Induro Adventure AKB2 Tripod Kit includes a sturdy magnesium alloy tripod that extends to 5'6" and weighs only 4.2 lbs, a precision ballhead with a quick-release plate, and a carrying bag with a strap. The ballhead features single-action control that allows head rotation and camera position changes in a single motion. The center column is reversible for low-angle photography and the leg sections feature quick-lock action for swiftly raising and lowering the head. Adjustable leg angles with a locking mechanism provide stable support on uneven or rough surfaces. This is a full-featured tripod for a great price.

Pro photographers will tell you via books and articles not to skimp when purchasing a tripod. Generally a cheap, 'lightweight' tripod is exactly that: a lightweight when it comes to adequately stabilizing your camera from movement and/or vibration. But unless you're a pro, the enthusiast may not have the capital to pay out hundreds of dollars for one of the popular and effective models of carbon-fiber, ball-head tripods. Apparently, Induro saw a market thus far unserved by tripod manufacturers, and they've filled it with their 'Adventure' line of sturdy, reliable, versatile, high-quality tripods.
Made of magnesium alloy, the Adventure Series tripods -- in this case the AKB2 -- include a pro-quality ball-head with 'single-action control', meaning that with movement of just one lever, you can secure or move your camera's position as necessary. Once tightly adjusted, your camera is locked in place with no 'creeping' movement, and the lever is both strong and sturdy. Compose your shot, put your camera right where you want it, tighten the single-action control lever, and your camera stays there. Whether you're shooting in the portrait or landscape position, with a ball-head, you can position your camera however you see fit.
The camera is attached to the tripod via a quick-release plate, that screws into the bottom of your DSLR or point-and-shoot. If you're a pro and have an array of cameras, additional plates are available (sold separately) which can be left attached to your cameras, making camera switching that much faster and easier. With the release of one lever, your camera can be secured or removed from the tripod entirely. The ball-head also includes an integral bubble level, insuring that your set-up and all adjustments are completely level, thus preventing any uneven pans and tripod head movements: no crooked horizon lines due to imbalanced tripod placement(!) It's both a useful feature, and a helpful tool.
The AKB2 has a maximum height of 65.9 inches (1675 mm), with a minimum height of 10.8 inches (275 mm), and the center column is reversible, meaning it can be removed from the tripod and reinstalled upside-down, allowing you to get shots as low and close to the ground as you need them. The center column is also grooved, thus preventing any unwanted rotation, and it includes a self-retracting weight hook, allowing you to add additional weight to the tripod for increased support and rigidity. The 'oversized' center column lock is strong and secure, rendering further vibration control and support.
The three-section legs are fully adjustable with 'quick-locks', and include locking three-position stops for independent leg spread, meaning each leg can be moved outward or inward independently to three possible positions to lower or otherwise adjust the overall height and position of the tripod. They're steady when locked in place, and they make shooting on uneven surfaces one less thing to be concerned about. There is also a 'closed-cell' foam grip, which is a help in handling for both cold and hot weather conditions. The AKB2 can hold up to 18.7 lbs (8.5 kg) of gear, which is ample enough for all but the largest and heaviest of equipment.
With a folded length of 28.7 inches (730 mm) and a total weight of just 4.2 lbs (1.9 kg), the Induro AKB2 is small enough and light enough to take anywhere, and it includes a quality carrying case with shoulder strap. So whether you need a tripod for tack-sharp close-up/macro photography, steady support for portraits or landscape photography, or as the essential tool required for night photography and long exposures, the Induro AKB2 is a high quality and surprisingly affordable contender worthy of being added to your collection of photo gear.

Comments about Induro Adventure AKB2 Tripod Kit:
I am a photography student and needed to purchase a sturdy tripod that would work well for outdoors and indoors. I was shooting at an odd angle the other day, I was able to actually just use one leg ( monopod) and fold the other legs down; i was still able to get a tack sharp shot. The low angle capability is awesome. If I could improve this tripod, I would add an extension handle to help with moving the ball head. Just as mentioned in the specs, the ball head offers fluid movement.

Very lightweight and easy to use tripod system. The size and weight makes it very easy to transport. The leg extensions give you good height variations. We've used two tripods together to support our slider and timelapse systems. We're able to set it up easily and pick up and move quickly.

I use the AKB2 on the streets of Manhattan and in buildings I photograph.
I think the best quality is it's lightweight, yet very sturdy.
It is easy to set up and break down.
The carrying case is comfortable given the size of the tripod.
I consider the price affordable.

This is a great tripod for an even greater price.
Built to last, lightweight and easy to use. The ball head works very good and the tripod sits very firm once the camera is attached. Just as good as the bigger name brands.

Comments about Induro Adventure AKB2 Tripod Kit:
I was looking for an affordable but good tripod. Whilst other brands have larger market share they were priced out of my budget range.
The Induro Adventure range come with a head included at a very reasonable price. Overall, I am very impressed by the build quality and the feel of this tripod. It's light enough to carry long distances but still very stable.
The three different leg positions are very useful. The ball head does not slip at all when using my D7000 with any lenses that I ow, including metal long telephoto lenses.
This is an awesome product, couldn't recommend it highly enough for those who are looking for a quality tripod at a reasonable price.

Comments about Induro Adventure AKB2 Tripod Kit:
I had experience using Manfrotto tripods, and was looking for a light professional fiber carbon within my low budget, not being able to find a reasonable priced one, I started looking for another brand, I guess I was a little afraid at the beginning not being able to feel the construction quality, however once I got it, I was really amazed at the quality for the price. The head works perfectly well, but it is not the best, it does has it small glitches, but for the price, it is worth the money!!!. By the way this is not [*]

Comments about Induro Adventure AKB2 Tripod Kit:
I was very impressed with this tripod. I have a Nikon D300s with a 70-300mm lens and it is rock solid. The ball head locks down with ease and the quick release is great! I looked at the AKB1 and it was nice but I wanted to go a bit more beefy. I'm glad I did. This is perfect. I have no fear putting my camera with any lens on it. I love the notched center post that can't rotate on you and you can invert it to shoot close to the ground.
The carrying bag is also top notch.
I can't say anything bad about the AKB2!

What a GREAT tripod kit! I'm very pleased with this! I was looking for an affordable quality tripod to upgrade from my cheap one that came with my camera for free. And I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. I use a D300 and am no longer concerned about it possibly falling over with a strong gust of wind. I HIGHLY recommend it!

This is a really nice tripod for the money. camera position adjustments are made quickly. This tripod is comparable to ones that cost much more. The carying case it comes with is a bonus as well. I would recomend this to anyone who doesn't have $300 or more to spend on a tripod.
